Post by hotbug1776 »

Just picked up my supercharger today, still need a few parts to complete it for install. I should have it all done by springtime.
Need the 2ZZ injectors, belt, thermostat, short stud, and a few other little parts.

If you still need 2zz injectors you can have mine. They are use but only have about 30000 miles on them, and still have the clips too. Let me know :D

Well, even with only one hand, I still couldn't fight the urge. I took the emanage apart and set it to not run the 5th injector.

I checked online for the intake gasket, rockauto has them for $6. I should have the gasket and the copper coating for less than $20.

The thermostat, plugs, and belt are next on the search.

Well, if you have the short stud could you give me the dimensions so I can buy another one. Lol

Ashley and Kelly picked it up for me to get it across the border. I'm glad everything was done by genvibe members. Just makes it more like a family affair.

I believe as you face the motor, the stud on the passenger side. It should be noticeably shorter than the drivers side stud. Unless its been removed. If it has, I'll just pull out mine and find a shorter stud to replace it.

Started the install today. 2-3 hours in and the only hiccup I have had was the replacement pulley bearing was the wrong size on the inner race. Luckily, the old bearing was perfectly fine. The reason it failed was it may not have been fine tuned on alignment. We plan on being done early tomorrow.

Which pulley are you talking about? The Idler? If so you need to watch that (removed) because the Pulley will spin on the outter race. Once it starts that you'll need a new pulley. PSE in OKC has them but you can't order them online, just give them a call.

It is a PSE. the bearing was the wrong inner diameter on the bearing. The old bearing was still good, the pulley went to heck.

Second issue, the thermostat I got which was for the vibe, was the wrong diameter to fit into the block. Went to toyota and they sold me the wrong temp!!! Took it back and am getting one from autozone. Nobody (dealer wise) has the lower temp thermostat. I spoke with GM and they weren't too worried about 10* and the performance losses. I don't think I'm going to chance it. Lol

That's good about the pulley. The Thermostat is also a good choice. Goodluck with everything!

Can I just say, after the computer has learned and adjusted, this car MOVES!!! I have a whole new respect for my vibe, and a growing love for the toyota brand. This is great.
