New to the group. I've got about 142,000 on my 09 base model. Only have had it since November.

Any suggestions on seat covers for the rear bench that will actually fit.

welcome to the best forum on the internet! feel free to make a separate introductory post and show us some pictures of your ride.

As for your bench seat inquiry, i don't know of any good covers to fit it. with the seat folding 60/40, you're search is narrow as it is, let alone one that fits nicely. I believe Weathertech and CoverKing are some of the better rated ones out there.

This is my 2009 base model 1.8L automatic FWD. It has about 142,000 on it and is my every day car.

Has rage rims on it. That where added prior to me getting it.

I hooked in the roof rack on top along with the two 4" LED light bars. The lights where wired through the XM radio antenna which I had no use for anymore.

Next upgrades are new 17" tired when the current ones run out. Also planning on upgrading the exhaust and trying to boost air intake.

Welcome to GenVibe. Those wheels don't look that bad BUT the extra unused mounting holes gotta go :o Maybe if you're in a northern climate you could keep these as a designated winter set, then get your new 17" tires for summer. Which leads me up to .... Hmmmm ... where exactly are you located (update your profile for us)? You got the best color too! I like the silver accent on the rocker panels ;) Get involved here and visit often !

What kind of rims would you suggest other than the factory ones for the 17".

I'm no expert on wheels/rims so I'll let others chime in on suggestions. Seeing that you're in Georgia rules out any nasty winter weather (lucky you).

Yeah I grew up in Pennsylvania, so I know the cruelty of winter. We still have a good bit down here just more ice than snow.

Went to the Phoenix area over Christmas, in what will likely be my last road trip in my '03 Xrs. Turned over 100k just a few hours from home on my way back.

Could we get a fresh update on how many miles your Vibes have? I am particularly interested to see how many are above 300,000 miles.

Anyone with 400,000 or more miles? Year and engine size as well, please.

Mine is a 2010 base automatic, with the 2.4L and has 194,125 miles.

Let's try to go in order...
'03 Base- brother is around 280k.
'03 GT (sold)- current owner is around 285k.
'04 Base- sister is around 180k
'04 GT- 102k
'05 AWD (Black)- around 175k
'05 AWD (Neptune)- mom is around 190k.
'07 Base- 203k.

Not sure on what my brother's significant other is at on her '04 AWD.

I know there is a guy on the GV Facebook page who is over 1.5mil KM on his; but he is on his 2nd or 3rd drivetrain in the vehicle now.

New to these forums.

I just picked up a 2009 with 205,050 miles on it. It runs very well, has a few dings and dents and the interior needs cleaning but the suspension, engine, and transmission were cared for very well. It does need the heat shield either replaced or re fastened along with the front brake pads changed soon, but all in all a solid vehicle. It's the base 1.8L, Automatic with power options. Paid $2,000 for it.

Looking forward to driving this 100,000 more over the next year and a half (I purchased it because I recently changed jobs and between commuting back and forth between work and my home, and my regular day to day driving my new leased Honda already had a years worth of mileage on it within 4 months). I've always been a fan of how these looked (back when i was in university in 2009 I almost purchased it brand new - but thankfully somehow convinced myself not to - too much student debt back then!)

Welcome to GenVibe. Open up a seperate post and introduce yourself. Post pics of your "new to you" ride! $2000 is a steal so hopefully you got a well maintained Vibe. You'll easily get an additional 100k miles and then some out of it. Terminate the Honda lease and save yourself some $$$

Ouch !!! Very common in my area with Deer hitting us drivers too :o How much did it set you back? Insurance claim?

Oh to stay on topic here, my 2004 Vibe GT, now the daily work driver, is seeing 1000 miles per week. Started this new construction job mid November and should last another couple months at the most. Just turned over 144k miles today. I'm changing the oil every six weeks

Had no collision on it so all my cost. I would guess it cost about $500 to fix. The new front clip piece you see in the pic was the most expensive part at around $200. Put in a new radiator as well and all new front lights and fogs. Used hood from Junk yard. Luckily my father in law was a body man his whole career so he pulled out the frame that was bent in.

Welcome to the party. Feel free to start a garage thread of your ride, and document the repair. A tree, a deer, a mailbox, and another car have all hit my wifes car. The core support is a little mingled from the first three, but i have not replaced it yet.

My wife just drove the Vibe alone from Florida to Colorado, 1800 miles. It's an '07 with 179K miles on it now. Neither of us hesitated about safety and reliability. We got it with 149K miles on it 2.5 years ago. Most of those miles have been highway trips.

It didn't consume more than an ounce or two of oil on the 4200 mile round trip, no leaks anywhere. She didn't track gas mileage on the way home. With gas below $1.70 most of the way, we didn't care much. From what I can tell of the charge receipts, the trip cost about $75 in gas.

My 2006 Vibe has the special Toyota joke odometer. Not just on my Vibe but on Corolla's and Matrix's.

At 299,999 km the odometer no longer advances. The trip meter works. The GM dealer acknowledges it as a recognized problem with no solution.

I am at 500,000+ km. A couple of clutches from teaching teenagers how to drive a standard. Changed intake manifold O rings to the new style because of intake leak in very cold weather. New starter and alternator.

Blower fan resistor had to be changed.

Getting close to 210k on my '07 & 108k on my '04 GT. Little brother is almost at 299,999 on his '03. Mom's 06 AWD, I believe, is close to 180k these days. Sisters '03 is around 200k, I think, and on a replacement engine after some negligence.

My '07 has over 187K miles now after a couple of long road trips in Colorado the past few weeks. Last trip was down to Telluride. We took some scenic routes, just under 800 miles. I stopped for gas once! I'm amazed at the fuel efficiency on back roads, at 50 to 65 mph. I got over 40 mpg. We tent camped and saw another VIbe a few sites over at one campground, a single guy who'd built a bed platform over the passenger seat. Because of this virus that's going around, I didn't get too close for a good look.

We picked up a small four-legged hitchhiker somewhere. I found some mouse nibbles in the food bag. I cleaned it out well at home and set a trap. Its next meal will be a surprise! I sure don't want it to find the wiring harness. This has been a real big season for mice around here.

Our '06 Base has reached 203k miles and still going (mostly*) strong.

*Something happened with the accelerator today that made it almost un driveable until I reset the ECU. Hope it's nothing major!

Hello to all! I'm a newbie here, I currently own two Vibes. They are twins except for the color. One is red and the other blue. The blue one is my everyday driver, it currently has 256967 miles and it still purrs like a kitten. Looking forward to hitting the magical 300000 mile mark. I should mention that they are both 2009 base models with the 1.8l engine. The red one is cherry, it has 176000 miles but you wouldn't know by looking at it. It just basically sits in the garage as a backup. I couldn't pass up the deal I got on it. I've owned quite a few cars and they are the best I have ever owned. What impresses me most is that they don't leak anything. Garage floor is completely dry even at 256967 miles.

WOW. That is impressive. I have to admit that at 140,000, my '09 is functioning the best it ever has now that it is a flatlander and no longer trying to get up/down hills ablaze with fire. If I ever got to your mileage, I can only imagine that there won't be any more ICE vehicles in production. Unfortunately the GM radio is beginning to fail in the million degree summer sun. If the XM lawsuit ruling (to be announced in February) are in my favor and finally allow me a free transfer, it probably will speed the end of my ownership of the Vibe. But as my Vibe is over 10 years old, every year added is pure gravy; a reality I relish every day.

I haven't been on this forum in a thousand years but I miss my Vibe and have many fond memories on this forum and have been reminiscing. She was totalled in 2009 with 125k miles by a person texting while driving. 50mph head on collision and NO INJURIES. The person I hit was also driving a 2003 Vibe like mine but because my Vibe was lowered, it went under hers and totalled my Vibe but hers was repairable... how about that lol...I now drive a 2012 Genesis but the Vibe still has a strong hold on my heart :)

270K now and shes running good. In just 3 years ( roughly ) I will hit the big 300K. Just had the CV joints and front struts replaced. Tracing down this engine vibration is getting annoying though. Stuff like that makes me wanna get another car, but I know once I locate the issue I will be a happy camper, and love this car all over again

Howdy! First post here (I’ll make a specific topic for my car and an intro to me), but I’ve got just over 210k on my early 03 GT. Purchased non-running in October, been my daily driver for exactly one week now at about 50 miles a day give or take a few

Hitting 255,000 miles on my '04 Vibe with 17-inch wheels. She still drives and looks awesome! The photo was just taken. I have had to replace a few parts along the way -- nothing major. I cannot believe it has been nearly 17 years, since I purchased her. We recently bought a 2020 GMC Terrain, which is also awesome, but I doubt she will last as long as my Vibe. The Vibe has been such a blessing and will always be my favorite. I will be very sad, when she goes.

My '04 just over the 185k mark. With the miles listed with some of you and with maintenance this should last me many more miles.

I bought my 2009 1.8L manual transmission a week ago at 126,000 miles. Since it seems that these tend to last a while, I'll post here every time I hit a 10k mark ;)

189K miles on it now, after a winter-long trip to Tucson, AZ. Barely drove it at all in AZ, but it did great on the road trip. It got 40 mpg on the trip home, at 75 mph with good tail winds. It carried two bikes, camping gear and cooler, and a small dog just fine.

I just checked and right now (April 12, 2021) my Vibe sits in the garage with the odometer reading 17,258 miles. (Yeah, I don't have a life.) With such low mileage my 2009 still looks and drives like new, as it should. Got new tires about a year ago, because the originals were getting old enough to no longer be safe. This has been one terrific car and I sure wish Pontiac was still in business. Got a question for the experts here: At what age should I have all the rubber hoses in the engine compartment and other areas replaced? Thanks guys and gals!

My 2009 (bought new in May 2008, 13 years old) base 1.8L has 105,000 miles on it. It uses oil, always has. I change my own oil, started using Mobil 1, bu since it uses, I switched to Walmart Hi Tech synthetic, works fine, now it throws out cheaper oil. I had an alternator replaced, so I had the guy replace that belt at the same time. I replaced the headlights once, as well as rear lights. The car is just rock solid reliable. This car has idled a lot, about 1.5 hours a day commuting to work for the last 13 years. I charged the A/C coolant last year for the first time, works great. I followed advice I found in the forum, it was VERY helpful, thanks to all here who contribute. My tire pressure monitors go out, but my son can replace them where he works, I just buy the sensor. My son did transmission service a few years ago, replaced the filter and cleaned the magnet, replaced the fluid. I bought a $20 kit from Sylvania and cleaned the headlights, the kit did a great job, I recommend it. Took one hour. I dropped collision ins. last week, saved $70 a year.

I thought about buying something new, but now I think my next car will be electric. I like the Ford Mach E, but they are sold out and pricey, no deals. Now I think I will wait 2 years, and with more models coming out, maybe get a better deal then. Plus hopefully they improve battery mileage. Funny, the Mach E has a similar shape to the Vibe.

my prayers go to the chip shortage gods, that they will send more to enable me to buy the best ICE vehicle I can. Given it will be the last ICE I'll own while alive on the third planet, I'm still not enamored with buying a Subaru (Crosstrek), nor falling in love with a VW (Taos), and am disappointed I have to wait another season for the new Sportage. Mileage???? 145,000 and the oil is going down faster than the odometer is going up.

39400+ now , had it just over a month had less than 38100 when i got it ...
has a few issues , minor .. i'm used to driving a prius.. so i miss the city mpg ..

nice not having to worry about a hybrid component failing though .. like the traction battery ..
or the special hydraulic brake booster pump ..
