Hi everyone. Ok, there aren't too many people on yet but I thought I'd say hi anyway. Its the first Vibe forum I have seen and hope it grows into a good one!I do not own a Vibe... not yet anyway... but have been looking at them. So far the forum looks good!
Welcome aboard and thanks for joining! Today is the first day our doors are open. We are pretty sure that this is currently the only site and forum entirely dedicated to Vibe owners and enthusiasts. With participation from community members we hope GVC grows to become the best place on the Internet for all the info that is 'strictly Vibe'.- Mike
Thanks for the welcome admin! So far the going is slow. I picked up on the site off of the Edmunds town hall thread. I have done a couple searches on google looking for a Vibe forum recently and was very surprised one had not been started yet. I am glad to see this one!
Finally, after yahoo changed the to the group thing, there is a forum like this. I'm a service manager at a Pontiac dealer and I have a Vibe GT on order. I'm realy excited about the car, because this will be the first new car I've purchased that I've ordered the way I wanted it. All the others where stock units and never quite exactly what I wanted. Look forward to seeing this site grow and I will visit every chance I get.
Congrats on ordering the new Vibe GT! Ordering the car to your particular tastes is a great experience! Its just the long wait for it to be built thats not so fun! I have been trying to gather some driving impressions of the GT. Have you had a chance to test one... and if so what do you think of the high revving engine! Thanks!
I've only driven regular Vibe's with a automatic and only 2-3 miles at a time. They seemed ok other than it has to wind up to go compared to alot of other cars which suits me fine. One of the Vibes we sold came in on a dealer trade from a dealer about 125 miles away. the gentleman who drove it to us just raved about how nice of a car it was and how nice it ran and drove. He was about 65 years old which suprised me since the younger market is what is suposed to be targeted. My Vibe is suposed to be built in the next week and delivered in 2-3 weeks.
Compared to the base auto you tested, I have a feeling you will be very satisfied with the GT based on others comments. If having to wind the engine up doesn't bother you, its going to be a lot of fun!I have heard other people older than Pontiacs target market who have praised this car too. Its a car for the young, or young at heart I guess. I wonder whether the Matrix or Vibe will succeed more at appealing to the younger market they are aimed! (I feel a new thread coming on here! Keep us posted once you take delivery of your new GT!
I've never even seen emod before. What ever happened to him?

Many of the site's patriarchs have slipped into obscurity and probably don't even know that they were part of the beginning of such a great site. That really is too bad, since this site is such a wonderful place to visit regularly!

A few of us were just posting whatever we could think of to try and get some conversation going, and make things look attractive for potential new members so they joined in, and more importantly came BACK! I had been away from Genvibe for a long time up to about a month ago when someone on the forum emailed me and asked if I would come back for the 2nd birthday. So I checked things out and have been participating on and off since. The forum has come along ways, and seems to have a lot of high quality people here! Its been a pleasure to be back, and I will probably continue to check things out from time to time!
Well I'm glad that you decided to rejoin us! And thanks for your account of some early GenVibe site history. Perhaps your title should be: GenVibe Historian

Lol, thank you for the kind words. With so few people around back then it wasn't much of a forum, so there really isn't too much history to recount! Things have changed a lot!
Wow lol. I remember back in August of 2002 when I bought the Vibe I was trying to find aftermarket parts for it and bodykits and Genvibe kept coming up in google. I would get so mad because I didn't know what a forum was back then and I didn't like reading alot on the computer so I never had hte desire to explore. I wish I would have joined back then so I could have been an original member with the nifty "2002" join date under my name

Very cool, 9 years running! Thanks Joat! Happy 9th genvibe! I test drove the first '03 Vibe in town. Was impressed with the car, Shadow, manual, FWD. Wife ended up with a new minivan. Only took the entire first gen model run to get my '08 Vibe. NUMMI was already building '09s, so I couldn't order one. Dealer found one pretty much like I wanted in New Hampshire. Not the color, and minus the curtain air bags... but it was a manual with sun and sound. He traded an '08 or '09 Pontiac Torrent for the Vibe. I still like this car a lot. Great value, utility, economy and a good driver. Gets better gas mileage than the 2 seat hybrid CR-Z!!!Like goofball comedian Charlie Tigerblood losing his Sheen would say, "Winner, dur!"

Cheers! I haven't been around for all that long, but happy 10th anniversary and I hope I'm still around to celebrate the 11th! Genvibe is the #1 reason that drives me to do more to customize my car, keep it clean, and overall just be part of the great community of Vibe drivers out there. Not to mention the myriad useful guides and such floating around.
Happy birthday to this FANTASTIC site. I have no idea what I'd do without you guys. My car is so much more than it otherwise would have been and taking care of it is so much easier thanks to all of you.
