Filled up for $3.64 today at the local Shell station, the other place I used to go is $3.58, but I find my car runs smoother and gets a little better mileage with the Shell gasoline, and I was told the cheaper station also gets 'low end' gas...not sure if something like that exists though? JR

Gosh $2.86 a gallon. I can only dream of such prices these days. I consider myself lucky to have received gas for $3.27 earlier this week.

11-28-11; 3.019 at Shell in Hilliard, Ohio (West suburb of Columbus) less 20 cents per gallon Kroger rewards. My AARP Visa is also giving me a 5% rebate for 6 months. I try to stick to top tier gasoline like Shell. I had a $1 a gallon credit built up at Giant Eagle but gave it to my son to use as he has not drank the Kool-Aid about Tier One Gas. I don't drive enough that what I pay for gas is a major concern. And my son often takes us out to dinner at his country club as he has to use up his minimum. I try to do all I can to repay him.

Premium was $3.27 in Decorah on Monday morning. It's still $3.21 in Cedar Falls, as far as I can tell. My fuel economy on my last tank was horrible. I averaged about 25.4 MPG. I thought I had been driving conservatively but that was a new low for the Vibe. This tank is sure to be much better!

Citgo 89 octane was still $3.29 when I filled my mom's Vibe up a couple days ago.Quote, originally posted by LarryKingsShoes »My fuel economy on my last tank was horrible. I averaged about 25.4 MPG. We had both been averaging right around 28.0 . I need to get our new AEM air filters and filter wraps so I can put our CAIs back on. I think that would help pull our mileage back up at least slightly .Winter sucks !

Ugh, you're right about that. It's a pain because if I have to look at these numbers for the next four months, I'm going to start feeling really bad about driving. On the other hand, my worst recorded average economy is tied with my brother's best in his 1999 300M. It's not all that bad, I suppose. My previous tank had quite a few in-town miles on it, also. This tank has been about 85%+ highway mileage, which has helped a lot. I had about 200 miles on the trip meter as I was dipping below the half tank mark. Hopefully I can keep this efficiency steady for a while longer. I just may be on my way to a new high.On that note, this sounds likes a conversation I should have started in the MPG thread instead of the price thread.

I'm so envious of you guys (and gals) in the South with your cheap gas prices! At least recently ours has dropped a bit from summer highs - but it's been staying pretty steady at the current price of $1.19/Liter Canadian, which currently works out to about $4.37 per U.S. gallon in U.S. dollars.According to my Fuelly stats, this year my overall average cost has been $1.24/Liter or $4.70/gal, so at least it's a little better now. Still nasty compared to a year ago, when we were only paying about $4.10/gal, or 2 years ago when it was $3.40/gal. First fill up in March 2009 was at $3.02! Sure wish we had those prices again...These days I've taken to walking as much as possible. Only drive when absolutely necessary. Unfortunately for me, work is still about 60km away (about 37 miles) - so that still equates to using about at tank a week.I put all of my stats since new into Fuelly recently. The link is in my signature, if anybody is interested to see. Every single fill since new is recorded there!John
