Time for new(er) ride. You're probably going to pay more than what the car is worth, for workmanship that will probably be average at best. Rebuilding or remanufacturing main parts like and Engine and/or transmission is so that the owner can save up for something else.

Did you check the hubcap for stones or pebbles? They can sometimes get into the hubcap and make a ticking noise when underway.

Why would you go to a Chevrolet dealer? There aren't any Buick/GMC dealers in your area? The dealer you did go to, probably did shoddy work, since they felt you had no intention in buying a new car from them, and that Pontiac and Vibe are gone, so in essence they could care less.
