Have whatever machine shop you use Heli-coil the head. they drill, tap, and put steel inserts in the aluminum holes so they should never strip out again. It's not an expensive thing to have done for a large amount of insurance.

Mine is sitting on almost 200k miles and I run the highest coverage allowed, $100 deducible, every little option allowed. I have as much on my car as my wife has on her brand new car.

It's mostly a personal preference.

I just want to know if this becomes a major pain when getting into the driveway or steep entrance. I hated that about my Sunfire. Scraping the front bumper wherever I went. I wouldn't want to rip one of these off being lowered.

Is this a ware item? I don't understand why you're having these made. Your TRD one looks like it's in good shape. The TRD bracket is poorly designed for the material it is made from (aluminum). A quality steel bracket won't fail in the way that the original will. I may be interested in one of these...

The dash dummy button holds a cable to keep the recirculation "door" from working in certain instances or settings. Recirculation is blocked in defroster mode, even with the button pressed. As for why it's a dummy button, I don't know.

It is a PSE. the bearing was the wrong inner diameter on the bearing. The old bearing was still good, the pulley went to heck. Started the install today. 2-3 hours in and the only hiccup I have had was the replacement pulley bearing was the wrong size on the inner race. Luckily, the old bearing was perfectly fine. The reason it failed was it may not have been fine tuned on alignment. We plan on being done early tomorrow.

Yes, but not with the 5 speed final drive ratio. That makes a huge difference on the highway when it comes to rpm's with the 1zz. Don't get me wrong, I'd take whatever I could get just to have the 6 speed.

It may take a touch with the old sand paper. I'm taking 2000 or higher grit. Maybe a detailer with skills and some rubbing compound can get it done safer than any of us.

worst case, Maaco. it may come down to a respray. Check with your insurance company to see if it is something that can be covered.

I believe as you face the motor, the stud on the passenger side. It should be noticeably shorter than the drivers side stud. Unless its been removed. If it has, I'll just pull out mine and find a shorter stud to replace it.

Just picked up my supercharger today, still need a few parts to complete it for install. I should have it all done by springtime.
Need the 2ZZ injectors, belt, thermostat, short stud, and a few other little parts.

Its like Christmas morning over here!! LOL

I close my dash vents to help keep it warmer in the car. Just a tiny bit of cold air seems to seep through the dash vents year round. Closing them keeps it to a minimum.
