On a somewhat tangentially related note--does anyone know if there's any way to check online IN CANADA to see if a used Vibe has had recall work done? Or do I need to bring it to a GM Canada dealer and have them look up the VIN?

Yep. Apparently that's just how it was designed. There are tons of threads on here about this topic. You can either get another cluster from a junkyard, etc. or use the trip odometer to keep track of your mileage. I'm curious to see if this goes for the 2009-2010 Vibes as well... The right rear door handle on our 04 Vibe is "sticky"...when we open it, the handle doesn't travel outwards smoothly. Instead, it kind of comes halfway in one go, then pauses, then comes out fully the rest of the way and opens the door.

What's the best way to repair this?
