Re: Hello fellow Maritimers!

Speaking as a mechanical ignoramus, can anyone enlighten me as to how easy it is to install one of those ebay HID headlight kits? I can unscrew a bolt or two, but if it came to totally disassembling the front end of the car, I'd be a little outside my comfort zone. And I know nothing about how those...

Well, it's not a dedicated GPS unit, but I just installed a Pyle PLDNV78I in my new-to-me 2008 Vibe. Will report back after a few weeks of use on how well it works. http://www.amazon.com/electronics/dp/B005J7YFLY That'd be great if you could post your results afterwards. Re: What will be the future for us, Vibe owners, with today'

I wonder what steps GM has taken to protect their PONTIAC Trademark. If a TM owner abandons a trademark someone else can jump in and claim it. Of course GM would no doubt drown you in legal fees if you tried. Not much, probably. GM has "divested" everything that was Pontiac, just like the...

Dear friends, My PT cruiser has been flooded, and I have been considering the Vibe as a replacement. I'm wondering how you would describe the situation in getting parts when in need. I'm a little concerned about that, and I'm wondering how dumb is to buy a car whose brand is being killed. However, ...

softening the ride?

The one thing that's bugging me a little about our new 04 Vibe is the ride quality, or should I say lack thereof. It's not quite as comfy as our 07 Kia Rondo was; we have pretty chopped up roads in my neck of the woods, and while the Rondo handled the bumps relatively smoothly, the Vibe seems to emp...

fixing headlight plastic casings?

The clear casings surrounding our 04 Vibe's headlights seem to be scratched up and hazy. I'm not sure if the scratches are on the inside or outside; I ran my fingers along it, but I can't tell if the lack of smoothness is the scratches or small pitting or rough surface. What's the best plan of attac...

That sounds about right, but there's no switch to turn auto-headlights off. If you want to keep DRLs but disable the auto-headlights, unplug the sensor in the front-left corner of the dash. Oh okay...so if I unplug that sensor (I assume it's obvious where that plug comes out? I'm not near the car r...

disable auto headlights + keep DRL's?

Colour me a little confused about the automatic headlights in the Vibe. In other cars we've had, it works like this: -- If headlight switch OFF: daytime running lights are ON, main lights are OFF. -- If headlight switch ON: main lights are ON. -- If ignition OFF and headlight switch ON: main lights ...

fuel gauge warning light, early?

We just drove around for a bit in our new (used) 2004 Vibe. We started off with a quarter of a tank remaining, drove about 40km, needle was around three quarters of the way between E and 1/4 mark, and then the low fuel warning light lit up. Isn't that a bit early? Every other car I've owned, the lig...

I'll add to this cuz I've found a lot of differences between the 03-05+ model years. Also some of this knowledge assumes the same-year vibe is identical to the same-year matrix: 7: The 04 Gauge cluster is indeed the white/red but its MUCH DIMMER and hard to see during the day. The 05+ is MUCH BRIGH...
