05 AWD Intake, MAF in the way?

Since the bays are the same, I was almost debating building my own off of the stock piping and just connecting a filter to the pipe where the airbox is. But the MAF sensor is actually part of the box??? It connects into a hard plastic part right where the box connects to the tubing. So how does someo...

Re: My Cargo Cover Completed (Guy in PHX)

I used 1/2" plywood, not very heavy at all. But enough so that you can store stuff on top of it and it holds its own weight down.I will work on the DIY tomorrow and take some good separate pics of the pieces. So expect by tomorrow night around 10pm eastern or so for the DIY to be up on Matrixow...

My Cargo Cover Completed (Pics)

All that is left todo is paint the bottom with my grey rustoleum and throw in the U supports. I did a split design because the whole piece would not fit inside easily and this way I can lift up one end to put things down low w/o opening the hatch. Not to mention it is easier to take apart when cargo...

Doesn't phase me either way. DSM is not going to be in the States much longer, they are going the way of Olds. They have or will end up dropping 4 names from their lineup and they have not been very highly rated in quality. Not to mention the new Eclipse was kinda a bomb.

The guy who works at the pizza place down my road owns a black one. They are nice looking and offer a ton of stuff for the money. But they are half the size of my Trix. Almost kiddy looking in size. I'll stick with my Matrix since I can hold a 10' piece of conduit and 8 foot ladders no problem!

I know it wont give me the full advantages of having an I/E or I/C/E setup. When I had my Civic I had I/E (AEM cai, Apexi World Sport II). I through in the E-manage and it made a decent amount of change, but nothing like it did for my friend's 03 turbo system. I was just hoping it could give a littl...

Re: Making Your Own Cargo Cover Beginning (Whelan)

Update again,After a few days of pondering about how to get the cover to mount to the poles, the U-bolts will not work because you have to take the poles out separately to make it all work. So I went to West Marine and found a nice Stancion (stan-shun) clamp, perfect when mounted. Sturdy too. The di...

Making Your Own Cargo Cover Beginning (PICS)

LOL, yup, the original 2600 so I can get the wood trim to match in my car, lol.Actually here are a few pics of what I have so far. I laid a lot of weight on it, 50-60ish lbs. and it didnt budge. So I know my design is sturdy. I used 3/4" Electrical Conduit, the whole piece is 10' long and fit i...

Sure thing the rate is anywhere from $100 to $500+I set myself apart from those $30 wax while U wait places. They do crap work and really do nothing to help your paint but make it smooth. I on the other hand do a very meticulous job on all aspects of the car; exterior, paint, interior, engine bay, w...

I've heard good things about the Pilot Exalto's. I have had experience with Bridgestone Potenze RE950 (my favorite so far), Toyot Proxes 4, Falken ZX-512's for performance and Kelly's for snow. But I guess when the time comes late summer early fall I will have to choose one or the other. I know Miche...

I think everyone who is caught drunk driving, especially those in an accident should be put in a room with the people they hit, the people they hit should be given bats and allowed 5 minutes to turn the person into a pulp to show them how they feel.I know I would feel better after that. Then I would ...

Goodyear Assurance?

People seem to like them, I can get them at a good price. Everyone says the Eagle TS-A's on my AWD Trix now suck but I have not experienced anything wrong as of yet. But I would love a good all season tire, with slight V tread pattern and this seems to fit the bill. Opinions?

I have had Powerslot on my last two cars as replacements. On my 94 Saturn and 02 Civic. They make a world of difference and I would never put anything but. very nice indeed. Nothing like custom looks. I think the only thing I would have changed is gotten flat head LEDs in either red or soft white and had them mount flush against the underside of the radio portion of the bezel so you see nothing but the glow. Right now Im in the process of changing my P...

I've read about it, read about it and read some more. Is it worth it to do for a stock car? Especially one that is AWD? Just curious as I have no mods yet, maybe an intake if I dare again, but a warm air not cold. But what would be an advantage if the car was stock?

What's up to all, introducing myself as a new member and also to give some tips on how I worked this car back to showroom status. At least the paint that is for now. I was given a Meguiar's G100 DA Polisher for Christmas (i.e. Porter Cable 7424) and purchased a few things to start fresh. I have alwa...
