I agree with Andy. I just replaced my second one ever on my 2004 Vibe GT and went with the Denso 6731305. Three years ago I replaced the first one ever. Stick with Denso for all critical parts. you won't regret it! Vibe is now at a young 205k miles

I take it this only happens when driving on wet roads (rainy weather)? Also try shining a bright light underneath the rear of the car and look inside the trunk area for openings & gaps. Fill them as you find them. So you live/drive in a humid area? What part of the country (update profile for us)?

I agree with Joat. Most aftermarket parts are nowhere near the quality of OEM. My 2004 GT @ 195K miles AND sits outside all the time, has faded lenses real bad. You can do quite a bit with different variants & thicknesses of sheet metal. I have a small metal assortment from 16 gauge down to the thinner 26 gauge. Mostly galvanized (for HVAC jobs) but a few nickel plated for painted pieces. Let us know what you end up doing. Post pics of all progress :)

Similar to what Joatmon mentioned, I believe most vehicles that had transmission choices, did receive a different radiator depending on the transmission. Mainly for capacity of the cooling fluid. Welcome to GenVibe. You failed to mention where this car is located OR where will it be primarily driven? How much rust is on the car? Rust belt area or sunny hot south? A couple grand is roughly 6 months of car payments, then after that you're ahead of the game. Get it painted and keep it ;)

I'm leaning towards the starter going bad. This happened to me on my 2004 Vibe GT last year and I swore that it was a battery issue based on the symptoms. Ended up being a bad starter which was the original with close to 200k miles on it. Been fine ever since replacing it.
