First, check fluid level

When in a forward gear and you rev the engine, does the speedometer move even if the car doesn't? If so, you may have blown a CV joint.

If it makes the noise when the engine is cold, then my first step would be to run the cold engine a little with the serpentine belt removed. That will tell you if it is coming from something driven by the belt or not.

Obviously you don't want to run it long with the belt removed.

There is no electronic aspect of the key in a 2004 Vibe. It sounds like the key is worn. A copy of a worn key is the same shape as the old one, so if the old one is too worn to work, the copy won't either. I'd go with andewclaus's advice.

The 03 5 speeds seem prone to bearing issues, but the 6 speeds have been really solid. I can't say for sure that no one here has ever had a 6 speed bearing fail, but if they did, I don't remember it. Seems unlikely that it would be the compressor clutch. The clutch itself never moves, it just generates a magnetic force that pulls the end late in so it grabs the spinning pulley. Similarly, there's a bearing for the pulley, but if it were bad, I'd expect it to make a noise when the AC was not runn...

Sounds like the door check is broken. Compare the passenger door to the driver side, there should be a flat metal bar that goes into the door when the door is closed. There are a couple of notches in there to provide a soft stop when the door is partially open, the usual failure mode for door checks...

Sometimes one issue can manifest itself by affecting multiple systems, which is why I asked. We have a lot of info here on Pontiac Vibes and its Toyota Matrix twin, but not a lot on a G6, and since a Pontiac Vibe is basically a Toyota, it will not have a lot in common with a G6.
