Re: Does anyone know a good bike rack for a 09 pontiac vibe gt? (ktyure)

I took the factory rack off my Vibe and mounted a Yakima rack -- for kayaks. I already had the hull stackers and cross bars. Frankly, wasn't thrilled with the way the clips attached and the setup worked. Dented the section above the door from over-tightening (my fault), but only because it came loos...

Re: 2009 Roof Rack Removal (peter826)

I took the rack off my 2009 a few days ago...The end caps of the rack come off quite easily. Push a flat bladed screwdriver under the front edge and work backwards. There's a small clip in there that will disengage. You can then wiggle the cap and the entire piece will come off. This exposes the bol...

Re: 2009 Roof Rack Removal (TheMaskedMan)

I'd like to remove my rack as well. I actually had GM install it when I bought the car, because Yakima was saying the factory rack had to be on the car to attach my kayak rack. Now Yakima has changed their fit and you must puchase towers and clips....and the factory rack will get in the way.The rack...

Re: Poor highway mileage on '09 Vibe, 1.8L auto (michaelgt)

Good God...am I an idiot or what? Yes, the RPMS were high. The car has 3-D, 2, L. Is it possible I've been in 3rd this whole time? You bump the lever to the right to get into D instead of 3? I assumed it meant 3=D, and there's nothing in the owner's manual to suggest otherwise. Holy cow.

Poor highway mileage on '09 Vibe, 1.8L auto

Hi all,First time poster, long time reader -- love all the Vibe talk here. My new '09 Vibe has about 1500 miles on it. I'm getting great city mileage....27-28 mpg, with the 1.8L auto (base model). On the other hand, a recent highway trip saw mpg of 22 (BP 87), 22 (BP 87), and 24 (Texaco 89) between t...
