Out here it's pronghorn antelope, they're everywhere this time of year. In my yard, in my driveway, on the roads, everywhere. And they're remarkably stupid animals that don't just run in front of your car, they'll run straight into the side of it as well.

The squeal could be either a weak belt tensioner, or Jiffy Lube put the wrong size belt on. I'd bet that since he pointed the tensioner out they'll want you to replace that before they'll warranty the belt. Unfortunately you can only get another 28,000 miles from your Vibe, as they stop right at 299...

I would go to https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and print the recall information, and take it to the dealer service dept. If they continue to play stupid I'd find another shop to do the repairs and then submit the claim form for reimbursement.

My daughter's 04 base Frosty still doesn't burn any oil after ~195k miles. My wife's 12 CR-V has burned about a quart between changes (7500 miles) since we bought it new eight years ago.

Followup #2: Changed the oil in Frosty last weekend and noticed that it was leaking again around the sensor, so I went ahead and replaced it. Looked at it yesterday and so far it's clean.

The spark plug anti-fouler stack cleared the P0420 code on both a 2000 Corolla I had and also on Frosty at about 185k.

The pumps just pull out of the tank and can be easily replaced, just set a bucket underneath before you pull one and let it drain. On my 04 resume has never worked the first time, but if I set the speed again resume works fine after that. Set-Cancel-Resume=nothing, Set-Cancel-Resume again=works just fine. Weird feature.

Over the past couple weeks I've talked to more people than I can count who kinda didn't feel good for a day or two, or had a mild cough, back in late March or April and are now convinced that they had the 'rona and are now immune, so they don't even need a mask.

Bad gas maybe? You could try some Heat or other fuel dryer maybe, and check/replace the fuel filter. Sorry, I can't think of anything else that you haven't already covered.

I just buy Toyota Type IV from the local Toyota dealer. Since it's a 60,000 mile or more interval I don't really care about saving a few bucks on fluid.

I would just drain it and replace the gasket. You know it should take about 3.5qt to refill from a drain, so just drain what will come out and put 3.5 qt back in. Now you've done a second drain & fill and should be close to right on the money.

Just the outlet and harness would work, you'd just have to drill the right size hole in the console to hold it. Depending on the year, y ou don't have to drill a hole. Yesterday I finally got around to replacing the map light bulb with an LED on both the 04 and 05. The 04 burned out so I bought a pack of led bulbs on Amazon so I could do both. Somehow managed to blow the fuse on the 05 while I was putting the new bulb in, but lucky for me the fuse is in the engine...

I've chased this problem on the 04 for years, and to some extent on the 05 now too. Some things I've found have helped: Stick to Top Tier gas only. Replace the air filter and clean the MAF on a regular basis, and disconnect the battery neg terminal for ~20 min when you do. Keep the tires around 35-3...
