Re: Waxing NOT

I used good clay bar and found the paint is not in great shape. It's a 2004 so maybe it's my own fault since I have been kinda lax about keeping it cleaned and waxed. My dodge truck was a MESS for a long time. Clay bar and waxing got it smooth and shiny and silky as a babies (removed). It was a 1998...

Re: Toyota may kill the Matrix

I noticed that many folks seem to think that the Pontiac Vibe and the Toyota Matrix are basically the same car. I drove a matrix company car for about a year and I can tell you the Matrix does NOT drive like a Vibe. The Vibe version of this car must have something different in the suspension. The Vi...

Shocks? Update... and paint....

My 2004 has 135K on it. I love this car. Runs great! How can I tell if it needs new struts/shocks????? The tires are good and show no signs of uneven wear, but it doesn't handle quite like it did. Just had brakes done. They said that other stuff looks OK. Ball joints, etc. Any thoughts??? Had shocks...

Re: upgrades, gas mileage, performance (heartfire9)

Just wanted to let you know. It IS the recirc motor/sensor problem. I figure for now, I will leave it in the position that the sensor is still working. At some point I will deal with it. Thanks for the info.

Re: upgrades, gas mileage, performance (joatmon)

Thanks much. I would bet this is it after looking at the pics and hearing the descriptions of the type of sound it is and where it is coming from. Thanks for the info on coils and wires and plugs.

Re: upgrades, gas mileage, performance (heartfire9)

Thanks for the feedback. I have done the transmission,(automatic), flushed out the radiator and such around 50k and will do those again. I am moving away from CA to North Carolina in June. I don't have to worry about CA laws then. What can I do to improve gas mileage without sacrificing performance?...

upgrades, gas mileage, performance

New to the site. Looking for advice. I have a 2004 base. I have loved this car. The only upgrades have been Michelin pilot tires and AR rims. I have 105,000 miles with no problems. Well, wait, I do have one. A strange tapping in the dash. Goes away at freeway speed. (Or, maybe I just don't hear it t...

Re: What's everyone's favorite tire for the Vibe? (W2ZXN)

I replaced my rims with AR rims and upgraded to michelin pilots. The handling is amazing. I have pretty much used them up and will be replacing them soon. I will get the 60K they said I would. They WERE a little noisy, and I would appreciate some feed back about other options. They handle wonderfull...

AR rims

Hi Everyone. I am new to this site. I put some nice AR rims on my vibe a few years ago. Ever since I seem to have issues with mysterious air leaks. I have michelin piliots, which I have LOVED!!!! AMAZING responsive tires. A little noisy. Ready to replace them soon. Any advice welcome. I am spoiled n...

Re: The Official "Price You Paid For Gas" Thread (ragingfish)

OK, no one from CA I can see. The latest price here..... brace yourself. 3.57 was the cheapest I could find here in Sacramento. YIKES!!! I am thankful for great gas mileage!!!!!
