How heavy (loaded) is your trailer? I tow a small Spanish made tent trailer it weighs about 350# probably closer to 450# once all the lawn chairs, stove,table etc are loaded.05 Vibe AWD

If one had a complete lockup at the rear, it would be a lot better, like my Camry. Lock it up for snow or slippery conditions, disengage for normal driving. I ended up having to seng my scanguage II in as my backlite disappeared, was off of warranty anyway so went with the $25 upgrade.

I consistently get 32 mpg with my 05 AWD ........70% highway but some long steep hills, running about 60 mph tops. I get 590-600 km on a tank. I use my scanguage II quite regularly.I do notice when I pull my utility trailer though it drops to 28 mpg. I find normal accelerating and city I run 10-25 m...

It was a toss up for me between the HHR and the Vibe, the HHR is smoother, quieter, and has more room, but I didn't like where the window switches are and it didn't come in AWD, if the HHR had awd I'd have one now.

Just hauled a yard of topsoil in my utility trailer, it alone weighs 750#, pulled it OK, but we live in hilly terrain, 2nd gear in the auto, up short hills, specs are 1500# (which I could never understand), I'm guessing my total trailer weight was 2500-3000#, took the backroads, handled well at 30mp...

Your not too far off for only 5000K on it, give it another 5-8000K for breakin.Mine works out to 8.2.......for the AWD I'm fairly happy with that. A bit more torque would be nice though.

I've had mine up to 325 MPG coasting downhill @ about 65 :-) I have mine velcroed atop the steering wheel plastic housing, just a little hard to hit the trip reset button on the dash.......

Heres the way I look at it, in the auto you actually have 5 speeds, the torque convertor is either locked up or in partial lockup condition, as well as the 3 "mechanical" gear ratio's in the tranny...........I found this from a post in alt.toyota.........."Overdrive is just 4th gear. ...

I hear you, I don't rely on the cliker to auto shutoff the nozzle, I fill the tank to the brim everytime, that way I know for sure I have the same amount everytime. I will compare my manual calculations with the scanguage, but I think the guage is off a bit right now. This will be my fourth tankfull...

Do a wet and dry compression test. Pull all the plugs, do a dry test on all the cylinders, record the readings. Then squirt a couple of shots of oil when doing each cylinder and record the results for each test. If the compression rises by more than 10-15 PSI when wet, its a good chance its the ring...

Great photos,!!I ran my plug under the spare tire and out one of the rubber grommets, just personal preference.I sliced the center of the grommet and squeezed the 4 plug through it.

My 05 Vibe had 12MM x1.25 bolts.......odd........and torque was 65 ft lbs as per the Toyota instructions, yup I got a deal on a complete Matrix hitch, fit my AWD perfect, There was a lot of undercoating junk in the threads so I ran a tap through them first, never seized the bolts and torqued to 65 f...

New by-law in Vancouver BC, that you cannot idle for more than three minutes. Engines must be turned off, whether thay can police this is another matter, are they going to have a 1000 by-law officers watching and timing people for the 3 minute limit???The laws have gone awry!!!!!

well.... if I fill it to the top of the neck -everytime- then I know almost -exactly- how much fuel i've used on that fuel run. If one relies on when the nozzle klicks off, that can vary from nozzle to nozzle and pump to pump. Thats what I was getting at. So if I fill exactly to the same level each ...

I only use the OD for highway driving, My Maxima is OD default to off, I just feel more comfortable this way, if your doing a lot of city driving it only seems sensible (to me) to have the OD off when you start the car and go.........

Did them both, my locks are set to mode 3 and the seatbelt chimes are silenced!! Now to make the OD default to OFF...........
