Re: How many quarts of oil? (n2ho)

They just moved the FULL mark a bit further up the stick and .....Wallah... Your vibe now holds 4.4 Qts. Amazing Ay. Helps it run a bit cooler and probably helps it make it to its 5,000 mile oil change. I use GC and go to 10,000 with great oil analysis results.

Re: (mikey00)

Perhaps it was the gasoline. The oxyginated fuels deliver less energy than the hard stuff. Type of oil may also have a play in the matter. I average 33 @70-75mpg w/ A/C on freeway. Wind resistance increases with speed. You use 18% more fuel at 70 mph than at 55 mph. More or less.To save BIG, SLOW DO...

I have the Weathertech deflector. It uses screws that attatch to existing holes in the hood. A marvel of German engineering it paid for itself the first day. A large rock thrown up from a truck hit the car ahead of me and came after me . It hit the deflecter. http://www.weathertech.com/sto..._id=0Th...

BIODIESEL ! Just go to the UK . There folks go to the ASDA (Walmart) and buy several gallons of cooking oil and put it into their cars. They run great ! The catch ? They get busted for not paying the road TAX. LOL

Id have a look at the O2 sensor Thats where the engine gets its info . Additives can damage as well as age, This is a bit soon at 60K k. Cut your warmup . Its waste of energy. Check your tire pressure also. These things all add up. Good luck.

The manual calls for a 9006 lamp. That said I'd look for a bad ground someplace. These can be tough to find if its not something obvious like a partly broken wire. Do a resistance check . The lamp wattage shouldnt matter since the fuse should protect it from over current. You have a partly cut wire ...

I am sure about this. The VIN # says it all. Look at the 8th character. If it an" 8" its base engine . If its an "L" its the GT. Look on page 5-89 and 5-97 of your manual.

I'm wanting to know if this oil will reduce my fuel mpg. The posts from BITOG seem to say it does. Was wondering specifically for the Vibe. The 0-30 really works out to be a 40 by US standards. 0w-30 also known as German Castrol.

Vibe oil

Is anyone using Castrol 0-30 in their vibe ? Did you notice a change in MPG? Did it increase, Decrease or remain the same ? Did you keep records of your fuel or is it just a guess ?Thanks,Chris

That stuff in the tall orange bottle was rated best for new cars by Consumer Reports. It doesnt have any polish to wear down your clearcoat. All it needs is a wax. I believe its a Silicone wax. New Finish is its name. $4.99 at Wally World.

I had a quik drain on my dodge bickup. Took it off after first use. WHY ?Because drain time os very slow. Because it leaves oil in the pan. That last few ounces full of crud. I did get my drain plug magnetised so it will collect more wear debris . Hope there is some iron parts in that motor.Chris
