Re: 2005 Vibe 2WD turned off on highway, starter problem?

Thanks for confirming. I looked at the wiring to starter and back to battery, starter relay area, and best i could tell it was all fine.

Hopefully last time I ever have to do a starter in this car.

2005 Vibe 2WD turned off on highway, starter problem?

So, I may or may not have fixed the issue with replacing the starter, but yesterday my FWD automatic Vibe died when accelerating on the highway. I felt a "lurch" and lost power. It appeared my oil light came on and I pulled over to side of highway. Tried to start car again, would not turn ...

Re: What happened to my front control arm bushing?

All control arm bushings eventually wear out. That one, to me, looks like it's barely started. You're probably good for at least a couple more years but inspect it again next year maybe.

Re: Missing Power window fuse

Bump from the dead.

Anyone have any idea what the P/W slot was for then? Some sort of other option for other models using that same fuse box?

Motor mount brands that have been good for you? 05' Vibe base FWD

Car started vibrating, sounding louder during initial cold start in the mornings, doesn't lurch or jump or anything while accelerating or stopping, inspected the mounts and at least the mount on the front right passenger side needs replacing. Runs great, there's no engine light. It's a 2005 FWD base...

It looks like the part is avaiable on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/182382064939
FYI this is for the MANUAL transmission vibe. I haven't bought the cover yet for mine. Maybe I'll have to go to a GM/toyota dealer for once.

Should the flexplate be exposed? Normal? Not that important?

So apparently I have had the flexplate of my 2005 automatic vibe exposed since 2020. Is this normal? I don't see a part for it on rockauto, maybe GM direct only? Attached best picture I could take at time. EDIT: Looks like I am missing some plastic cover. Assume this is the same transmission. https:...

Re: Brighter headlights and/or sanding

I followed ChrisFix video on this for my Vibe, looked much better, not perfect but maybe I'll redo them again.

Re: Do I need to check valve clearance, or anything else anymore on 1ZZ engine?

Thanks, yeah, my front struts and sway bar links were worn out. Got quotes of $1,273 and $1,600 for a shop to do it with an alignment, so did it myself, never got it aligned, didn't seem to need it.

Do I need to check valve clearance, or anything else anymore on 1ZZ engine?

Hi, I have a 2005 Auto FWD Pontiac Vibe with 214,000 miles on it. I've only had it since 180k miles or roughly 2.5 years ago. I've done transmission filter and fluid replacement, coolant flush with thermostat, multiple engine oil changes, fixed tensioner leak. Car runs great, I get up to 33 mpg when...

Thanks guys. Just found out my passenger side CV axle is failing so that's getting done first now.

Rear creaking noises 2005 FWD vibe

I have a 2005 Pontiac Vibe FWD, 208k miles. It has a creaking noise mainly when getting in or out of car, barely hear anything otherwise while driving. I had replaced the front struts because they were original after 200k miles and has shaking over bumps, that fixed that issue. The rears also look l...
