Re: 205/60/R16, still enough power?

I would add that I don’t know how much of my quieter, smoother ride came from the larger tire size vs change in tire make/model (Pirelli AS+ from Nexen AH5). I will say that I did notice a small decrease in acceleration and steering response - not quite as sporty of a driving experience. Again, I’ll...

Re: New’04 owner (late to the party!)

Actually would have preferred a later model, but this one was clean with low miles so I went for it. Glad to know 2004 is considered a good year. Sorry to hear about your ‘04. Kids: what can you do? Hope your daughter was ok though.

Re: 205/60/R16, still enough power?

Pulled the trigger on the 205/60/16’s, Pirelli P7 All Season Plus. Pretty highly rated at Tire Rack. Discount Tire price matched Onlinetires at $81 each, and credited me $25 each for the Nexens they took off, so not bad. (The All Season Plus are cheap now since Pirelli discontinued and replaced with...

Re: New’04 owner (late to the party!)

Yep, rust free. Not sure I’ll drive it 10 or more years, but good to know I could.

Re: New’04 owner (late to the party!)

Thanks caretaker. Actually came from a dealer - only the second car I’ve ever purchased that way. And yeah, age can matter more than miles. This one just seemed right.

Thanks Mark. I’ve seen your other posts about this tire size, but good to know you haven’t noted my specific concerns.

205/60/R16, still enough power?

New ‘04 owner with a tire size question. Many here recommend replacing the factory 205/55/R16s with 205/60/R16s. I know this 3.2% increase slightly exceeds the 3% max typically recommended, will throw off the speedometer reading, may reduce mpg, and may increase brake/suspension wear. I can live wit...

New’04 owner (late to the party!)

Recently acquired an ‘04 Vibe in Arizona with 89k original miles, one owner, dealer serviced. My “new” car replaced a ‘96 Isuzu Oasis (Honda Odyssey twin). I guess I’m a just a sucker for old, rebadged, top Japanese makes. I’ve already benefited from topics here on genVibe: Squeezed a couple of degr...
