Re: Anyone need a wiper fluid reservoir?

Nice of you to offer, where are you located? Sorry - didn't get a notice about this in my email and I visit infrequently. The reservoir has been sitting outside for some months, now, so I'm no longer sure of its condition - but we're in North Georgia. No worries, same here lol. I got one from a jun...

Look in the owners manual (download one if yours is missing), and there should be a diagram on the cover of the fuse block. As mentioned above, it's in the under-dash fuse block. You can download a PDF of the owners manuals from https://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=755 Thank you both! ...

Where is the AM1 fuse located? Is it a normal blade fuse, or something different? My gauges, climate controls, cruise control and windows went out, but everything else works fine.

Re: Unrelenting P0420 remains after catalytic converter, O2 sensors, and other parts replaced and modified

For anyone looking into this in the future, they sell an O2 sensor defouler (anti fouler) that doesn’t need drilling or modification of any kind. They’re extra long, so just a direct fit (thanks CraftsmanQuad19). I went with Big Daddy Garage, I’ll advise if I have any issue with it. Here’s the threa...

Re: How to get rid of P0420 using spark plug anti fouler

They sell actual o2 defoulers that bolt right on specifically for this purpose. No drilling or “spark plug defoulers” necessary. My car hasn’t had a cat for over a year now and never had a p0420. Just google search an o2 defouler and it’ll pop up Thanks for this, I don’t have a drill press, so it w...

Re: How to get rid of P0420 using spark plug anti fouler

Got this code and when I went to change out the O2 sensor, this mod had already been done by the previous owner lol. The anti foulers rusted out and the O2 sensor looked beat. Broke off the O2 sensor with part of the anti fouler, had to drill the rest out. Looking for new anti foulers now, is there ...

Thanks for the pic, didn't even think to look for something like that. It shows the bolt at the bottom rear I’m talking about, but not the trim panel that covers it. Just read through this awesome thread, what a rollercoaster! I know it’s old, but I hate creating new threads when I can just add to one that’s already full of info. Front Passenger Knuckle

Went for another inspection attempt, turns out my right front bearing and hub need to be replaced. Instead of dealing with all of that, I purchased an entire MOOG knuckle assembly, which includes the bearing and hub already installed. Wasn't a big deal, other than being unable to remove the lower ba...

Re: What is the OEM Spark Plug for a 2009 1.8 Vibe

IF you do a hot drain, you don't have to flush it twice. The short is this - pull loose the top hose on the radiator. Extend that out with a plug and a hose to either a collection bucket or to the grass. No, it won't hurt the grass, nor any pets if you make sure it's absorbed into the dirt. flush o...

Re: What is the OEM Spark Plug for a 2009 1.8 Vibe

For coolant, look for the Toyota Long Life Coolant. It's pink/red. OEM Toyota is what you want. Plugs-- most recommend either Denso or NGK plugs. Tranny fluid-- simply just do a drain and fill using the correct trans fluid. I believe the Castrol Multi-Vehicle is what is calls for. The coolant in th...

Re: how to fix window clunk after recall fix (pics)

I ground mine off and ground it off some more, and the clunk would eventually come back after awhile. Then last May the strap broke off, jammed the regulator and bent one of the arms. So I replaced the window regulator and got a strap from an 09 Matrix at a local u-pull-it yard, which is a complete...

Seems our Vibe has fallen prey to this issue as well. I initially thought the window was hitting a wire or locking mechanism cable. With the door check, is it catching the window now? If so, the fix is to grind a corner off of the strap so it clears the window when it rolls down. The driver side door check was swapped at the same time I worked on the mirror. It’s just three 10mm bolts, but they have thread locker, so I suggest an impact.
