Re: 09 Base clutch concern...

i agree about the hydraulic clutch, you can't feel then it starts to "catch" like you could with a cable. You can't feel the slack loosen like in a cable. I notice it most in going from 1st to 2nd. the other gears are fine

The M&T amp is under the passenger seat. It is 6 channels. Two power the subwoofer in the back (dual voice coils), 1 channel each for the 2 rear doors, and 1 channel each for the front doors. the tweeters in the sail panels run of the front door, with a capacitor crossover to keep too much bass ...

Re: 2006 Vibe Factory Stereo Won't Play Burnt CD's (jhorton)

Try burning them onto CD-R format. Some players have problems with CD-RW disks. I use CD-R 's all the time in my Vibe, they are cheaper that -RW, so if they get scratched, of if they eventually will not read I can burn another.

I've had headlights blow within a week of each other. When one blows I just replace the other one automatically. The bulbs are the same age and they they are wearing the same, so it's only a matter of time. I have the tools out and the front of the car apart anyway.

Re: What is that "bar code" thing on top of my '09's radio? (Kincaid)

I had that on my 2005 vibe. I just pulled it off, and stuck it on the inside front cover of my owners manual, in case that was an unlock code for the radio if the power was ever disconnected (like when you change the battery)

Re: Pics of my city =) (lowincash)

Did you spin the polarizer to see the effect that it had on the sky ? As you turn the filter the sky will get darker to a point, and then it will get lighter. I wouldn't mess with the ISO yet, the cityscapes look fine. The light meter in the camera is reading through the polarizer too, so it adjusts...

Photography isn't really all that hard, and you have the LCD screen on the back of the camera to see if what you tried worked, or didn't work. What photo experience do you have ?

Re: Pics of my city =) (lowincash)

What kind of polarizer did you get, a normal or a circular polarizer ? There is a difference, and with digital cameras you want a circular one. the filter has a grey color, so it's stealing light from your photographs, 2 stops, which is the same as from 100 iso to 400 iso, so use it only where you h...

Re: my horn seems to have died, need help troubleshooting (cp_stunna_2011)

That sounds like a loose connection to me. If it came loose, and then fixed itself once , it will do it again, probably when you really need that wimpy horn; like when a soccer mom in a Excursion is gabbing on her cell phone, and she is doing a lane change without signaling. I've been waiting for my...

Vibes don't need a theft deterrent system. A couple of years ago an Insurance rating company said that the Vibe was the second least stolen car out there. A Buick was first. I brought that up with my Insurance company at renewal time, and they verified it, and I got a little break.

If the patch cord plugs into the bottom of the I-pod , where the charging USB cable plugs in, you may be luck. If you are using the headphone jack you are not, as there is no way to send control signals through that connection.

I have noticed that same thing here. I was going to post this question here a couiple of days a go, but I didn't know how to phase it. I thought I was going nuts. Every time I get in I have to give the seat a few pumps. If it wasn't sinking my head would be sticking out of the sun roof by now.

Don't worry about 2 ohms. Theroetically 2 ohms is best for the M&T amp, but any good 4 ohm speaker will work too. Depending on the amp design, a 4 ohm speaker may make the amp more stable, and less likely to go into distortion.

I had this problem when I first got my Vibe. I alll my previous cars in the winter I used to leave it on defrost until spring, but that leaves the A|C on too, and when you turn off the car the cold air just sits on the windshield. Now I use the defrost just when I need it, and I change it from defro...

The rule of thumb is to use the most power that you can afford. You'll blow more speakers with a low power amp that with a high power one. When you overdrive an amp it sends out lots of high frequenciy energy right to the speaker that least handel it (the tweeter) . The best way to do it is to use a...

The sail pannel is a good place to put them. Right at your ear level which gives you goos stereo imaging. The onlu problem is that the one on the left column is right near your ear, and the one on the right is sooop far away. The sail pannel is where they are put on the moon & tunes package, whi...

Isn't the Vibe based on a Toyota Matrix, which is based on a Corlolla drive train, as is the Chevy (Geo) Prism ? I would think that If they could work on the Prism's, they should have to tools and the "books" to work on at least the motor & drive train.

I would forget the changer, and opt for a plug or an adapter for an I-pod. Alot more music that a 6 disc changer, and if you do get the I-pod adapter you wouldn't be able to use that changer anyway.

You increased your power about 6db which isn't a that much difference, You have to go 10 db, which is 10 times the power, to get a 2x difference in percieved loudness. I don't knpw what you listen too, and where you hooked up your amp, but you should have a cleaner midrange. It's the kind of stuff y...

I put then in the A Pilllars on a Plymonth I had many years ago. Sonically that is really the best place to put them, in level with your ears as the Hi's tend to be very directional. I aimed them into the car, not towards each other. The tweeter in the left is going to be alot closer to you that the...
