Re: Anything I can do to lighten the car? (THE VIBERATOR)

Do not eat, start vomiting after meals, strip out the entire interior except drivers seat, drive barefoot, do not wear clothes when driving, only race with 1 gallon as gas in the tank, remove all the doors, remove the glass, remove the hatch. May be a cold and noisy ride in the winter, but you will...

Steering Wheel Emblem Replacement?

Does anyone have any badges or anything at all that fit the center of the steering wheel on the 2006 vibes, whichever ones are similar, I repainted my whole interior and steering wheel and when I took the tape off the center from masking it ripped a lot of it off lol.

Well, I thought it was in there, but I was going on other folks info, and had never pulled that trim panel to verify, so I humbly apologize for misleading you. I have no idea what I was able to feel in that area on mine when I had it. If I still owned one, I'd go yank the trim and check myself. One...

Both CV Axle Replacement Help

I've done lots of research and youtubing on how to replace the cv axles and im confident I can do it unless they get stuck like other people have said but im having serious trouble finding CV Axles for a 2006 FWD Auto Transmission and I was only able to find the front left CV Axle on Advance Auto an...

Re: Tranmission Fluid Chage at 218000 Miles 06 FWD Base

It's simple to drop the pan on this car because there's a drain plug. Count the bolts to get the right gasket and filter kit. I used T-IV fluid. The whole job cost me about $30, with three liters of fluid on sale. You'll probably want to get three more liters and do a simple drain and fill in a wee...

Tranmission Fluid Chage at 218000 Miles 06 FWD Base

I've driven my vibe 60,000 miles since I got it and it's at 218000 and I believe from prior records the transmission has been "serviced" a very very long time ago, doesn't say any details but my fluid doesn't look very bright at all anymore and reading from what others posted on the forums...

Re: Engine idles very rough after cold start in colder weather

If your lean code is P0171, it is definitely due to the intake manifold gasket not being replaced. Replace it, and most if your rough idle issues should go away. Thank you, will replace that as soon as I can! (And the engine light turned on on the way back from work and its the code you just said, ...

Engine idles very rough after cold start in colder weather

So my base vibe is at 217,877 miles and it has had zero issues besides the starter went out like 2 years ago a little after I got it, every single winter here in Florida when it gets about 50 or lower when I start the car it idles rough until its completely warm, an engine light turned on the past 2...

Re: Whistle/whining when accelerating

Had this strange issue that I can't seem to trace down. When accelerating I'm getting what I'll describe as a whistling/whining noise when accelerating that can be noticed mostly between 2-3k RPM's once the car is up to about 35 MPH. It's a bit difficult to describe so I'm attaching a video along w...

Re: Fob Will Not Work Unless 5 Feet From Vibe

While I was at a junkyard the other day for some other parts I found a 2005 moon and tunes vibes and I pulled it apart in the back to look for this keyless entry module and i found nothing besides some seatbelts, a subwoofer, and the gas refill entry, i didn't find anything besides those. Can anyone tell me where the location of the module in an 06 vibe? I can't find it at all sadly, also if anyone knows a link to a module to buy that'd be helpful too, I just can't find anything for some reason or I don't know if the info is correct.

Re: Fob Will Not Work Unless 5 Feet From Vibe

On my 03, the fob receiver was above and slightly behind the rear passenger side tire, behind the plastic interior trim. Have to pull the interior trim for access, unless you have squid arms to reach in from the tail light access door. Can't remember, but I think the receiver module doesn't have a ...

Fob Will Not Work Unless 5 Feet From Vibe

Ahh another problem I cannot find the answer to myself by simply looking it up, so a little less than a year ago I installed ghost lights and whilst hooking them up to my dome light wire in the A Pillar panel I shorted the fuse, rookie mistake never again, but it messed up my dome lights and I had t...

For a Gen 1. Does anyone know if I can find a wire that is in the dome light circuit inside of the driver's door? I want to connect to it and run down to the door bottom to add some LED lights that will go on and off the same as the dome light. (Or, maybe the door ajar circuit but anything that is ...

Mine's not Moon & Tunes so I'm not sure where your dome light switch is, but if were my car I'd be looking at that switch way more carefully. Take it out and bench test it. On my base model, there's no relay, just a cheesy little switch on the dome light that barely works because of dirty conta...

Welcome to GenVibe Brandon. I can probably "theorize" exactly what you did .. BUT in practicality I can't lead you to the problem. Assuming that there is a dome light relay, you likely "welded the contacts CLOSED" when you blew the fuse. This is due to the excessive current goin...

Dome Lights Turn on but Won't Turn off When set to Door

Hi, I own a 2006 Moons and Toons FWD Pontiac Vibe and I installed 4 ghost lights/courtesy lights for my four doors and I'm not very good at wiring so I followed a video on YouTube of a guy who tapped into the dome light power and ground wires to power the ghost lights and I accidentally blew a fuse ...
