2010 Vibe - Base

Unable to get rear ( left and right) dust shields. Would the shields from a 2010 Toyota Matrix work?
The Toyota Matrix and Pontiac Vibe have a lot of common parts, so does anyone know?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

2010 Pontiac Vibe Base

Trying to get info on whether the following is possible. Would the rear brake dust shield( behind the rotor) on a 2010 Toyota Matrix fit my 2010 Pontiac Vibe? Seeing Pontiac has eliminated off the planet, and the Matrix and Vibe are so close with other parts, I’m wondering. The Vibe has the e-brake ...

Re: 2010 Vibe 2.4 Li Front Wiper Problems

Finally found the problem that I would like to pass on. The wire connector plug going into wiper motor is susceptible to letting water in. It lies under the motor. After taking the motor apart it was evident that there was corrosion and dirt in the mechanism. As I was cleaning the contacts I broke o...

Re: 2010 Vibe 2.4 Li Front Wiper Problems

Thanks for the reply. I took the switch out and tried to get continuity tests done on the small wire plug. The only side that would short out is the rear motor/ washer part of the switch. This is also the side that works, so that makes sense. In the larger wire plug I couldn't get any of the pins to...

2010 Vibe 2.4 Li Front Wiper Problems

My front wipers started acting up. The wipers do not start moving no matter where the wiper switch is placed. Fuses and relays check okay. I noticed that if I give the wiper blades a bit of a tug once the car is started, the wipers will work, but only in low. Intermittent will not work. Seems like o...

Re: Evap Problems

Jolt
The code is P043e an orifice low flow leak.
Does this point to one of the valves or is it one of the hoses leaking?

Re: 2010 Vibe Transmission Filter & Oil Change

I understand that, the timing if you will, is important so that there is always the correct amount of fluid in the system. That's where my secret handy man weapon comes in, my assistant who will stop and start the vehicle as required. I'll maybe take out 0.5-1.0 li at a time as the new fluid is bein...

Re: Condensation in Rear Driver Light Assembly

Yeah it's near the upper part. The reason I say condensation is that it beads up inside.
Water if it leaked in would collect or pool in the lowest part.

Re: 2010 Vibe Transmission Filter & Oil Change

Thanks jolt. Yes I did get the fluid. The Toyota dealer had it on for $8.00/ liter and it is what they use for their changes. As far as a complete flush, I believe I read the procedure in a copy of the factory service manual vs Chilton or Haynes. My thinking is that if you disconnect the discharge h...

Re: 2010 Vibe Transmission Filter & Oil Change

Thanks jolt Your description is pretty much the way I was planning on doing it but I needed to confirm. As far as torque goes, the fluid change was another reason to buy an in-lb torque wrench. I have read about taking off the trans oil cooler hose, once the new filter is installed and new fluid add...

Condensation in Rear Driver Light Assembly

On occasion I get condensation in the rear drivers light assembly, near the top and side.
This is on a 2010 Vibe 2.4l Fwd.
The condensation seems to go away when the weather heats up.
Is there a leak in the assembly cover or does the condensation form
for other reasons?
Light still works by the way.

Re: 2010 Vibe Transmission Filter & Oil Change

Ok 3.7 qrt or 3.5 li here in Canada, I was going to push the old fluid out of the cooler as well. How much fluid in there? Is the filter removal straight forward? I've done some work on older GM vehicles but when checking with mech's and tranny shops and dealers I get the complex horror story Of how...

Re: Evap Problems

I believe the code was P0133, or P01133.
The GM dealer had to really look o find the code and it
Basically comes back as Evap leak.

Evap Problems

On my 2010 Vibe, 2.4 li, Fwd the vsc, service engine, and anti skid lights flash Garage says it is an Evap problem. The solenoid on the canister checks out. Opens and closes with 9volt battery. After disconnecting the car battery, alarms cancel out, but come back in a few days. Possible small leak? ...
