Re: Lugage rack end caps...

What a pain!Very carefully pried and pulled, wiggled and giggled. Finally got one to pop off. So started in on the other side. Got it lose. But cracker the stand that holds the clip. I little JB weld seems to be holding that just fine. But I am gonna grab extras net time I'm at the u-pull it yard.

Re: Gotta love the U-Pull-It yard

Today's trip was for a blower motor and the connector for it. Wife said the A/C wasn't working. Turns out it was. But the blower wasn't. Not sure why, but the connector was burnt. Going with the theory that the motor must be drawing to much power. Parts $15.

Re: Gotta love the U-Pull-It yard

Not often that I see a vibe or matrix in this yard. But there are two now. One with some significant front end damage. Just chased down a blower motor issue on ours. Seems the connector at the motor is burnt. Time for another run to the bone yard! I'll replace the blower motor as well as the connect...

Usually when a section of the radiator is clogged you'll see cool spots. This is caused by the hot coolant NOT circulating through blocked tubes.

Hi Mike,

Did they say why the radiator should be replaced? Is it leaking, corroded, plugged? Some other issue?

Best to hook up the cables and let the battery charge for a bit. Then start the car. Not a fan of leaving the cables hooked up after the car has started.

Re: Battery charging system light on

Do keep in mind that charging problems can have a detrimental effect on a battery. It is possible that the battery can be going bad in addition to a failure of the alternator. But the CCA (cold cranking amps) only comes into direct play when starting. The lower CCA wouldn't really be a problem while...

Re: Battery charging system light on

I would be willing to bet that the alternator was the issue. I wouldn't bet the a case of beer, but would certainly risk a six pack. There is a small chance that the battery could have shorted internally and dragged the whole system down. But that is unlikely. I would expect the battery to burn itse...

Today I got around to installing the remote start. With the information here and a bit of prior experience it wasn't too bad. Finding a pinout of the ecm would have been helpful. Bu I pushed on and got it done.

Yesterday I put on front brakes. Drilled rotors and ceramic pads from ebay.

They thread into the bracket, not the knuckle. Take a bracket with you to the hardware store. Measure the thickness of the knuckle and add that to a bolt length.
