Re: 2005 vibe base strut job

I tried to figure out of I could just buy the wheel bearing and hub in one unit since I don't have any way to press bearings out but its hard to tell if the bearing and ...

Re: 2005 vibe base strut job

I was leaning toward kyb strut plus for the front due to the lowest price $111.00 each and ACDelco struts for the rear at 110 each. cool if you were looking at sway bar end links for 25ACDelco vs 50 bucks for GM what would you do? I want the Milwaukee impact wrenches because I have always liked them...

2005 vibe base strut job

I want to replace all of the struts and associated hardware on my vibe. I am looking on rock auto and there are ACdelco and GM genuine parts that vary in price. The price difference in ball joints is nearly 100%. What is your advice on the difference between ACdelco and GM genuine for a vibe? Also I...

Re: How to unclog rear passenger-side drain for sunroof(2003 Vibe)?

so I had the leaky (removed) going down on my passenger sides too. Blew out the lines and got frustrated after windshield installer friends couldn't figure it out after tearing through the car. Here is how I fixed it. The leak is often at the front of the metal rail and can be seen by shining light ...

Re: Correct Engine Motor Mount Kit Part Numbers?

I did the rear motor mount twice! For real, buy the actual OEM mount from a toyota online parts place. I did aftermarket mounts and thought my engine was having issues because the vibration was still there at stoplights. I bought OEM and installed them and its a night and day difference. The ones th...

power steering pump / motor mount drama

2005 Pontiac vibe base 1.8L auto 132k miles So I recently replaced serpentine belt tensioner and belt and all motor mounts to OEM parts and 2 things happened. 1. I noticed the power steering pump pulley pulls away from the body roughly 1/2 mm and I cant imagine that is good. The wheel seems to rotat...

Re: Engine faltering under load

I just wanted to add the car runs great and gets 33mpg consistently Super reliable just odd idle quirks (mostly fixed) and hesitation under load and higher rpm. I suspect it’s a fuel issue but not sure.

What do you think?

Re: 2008 Vibe Starts a Little Rough

My car starts rough too. It’s starts normal and then it grumbles for a minute at a low rpm (~1000). The idle doesn’t fluctuate wildly but it is searching within a 100 rpm range and you can tell the car is reacting to an issue. It struggles for about 3 seconds and then it raises to 1600 rpm and warms...

Mass air flow readings.

So I bought a 2005 vibe and have done all the preventative maintenance on it I could. The lady who owned it did very little. I recently got a scanner and noticed the MAF readings at idle (warmed up) is averaging 1.65 increasing to 18 or 20 at throttle of approximately 2600. Does anyone else know wha...

Re: Engine mounts, vibration and CEL

Yea. I need 2 of the blue injectors. Do you have a resistance reading on them? My new injectors have ohm readings lower than the ones in the car. The old ones are 13.4 avg and the new ones read 12.5 or so. I assume they gain resistance as they age or get blocked up. PM me with details of how to get ...

Re: moonroof weatherstrip replace

FYI I had leaking in the A-pillars and took it to a body shop to get windshield crack fixed. They cleaned the drain tubes and it kep happening. I opened up the sunroof and found a hole in the frame that guides the sunroof. it just isnt long enough. I used gasket maker to fill in the spot and let it ...

Re: Engine mounts, vibration and CEL

I have finally fixed the majority of my rough idle issues after messing with everything known to man. I did the intake manifold and throttle body gaskets, all 4 motor mounts(aftermarket), coil packs, plugs and nothing was working. I checked for vacuum leaks and replaced some cracked intake parts etc...
