Would you say the 7th gen T-Bird, was perhaps the biggest muscle car of all time? ;)

Looking at this comparison report with the BMW 325e and the Mercedes 190E, the little Caddy comes out not too bad. Even 30 years ago the German car buyer would never have considered a Caddy, regardless of how good it was. Originally conceived as a BMW 320i & Audi 4000 import fighter, on basic sp...

OK ... I'll throw my 70's muscle cars in here with all you others. Both of these needed restored after only 10 years of life on this planet :( Totally rusted out & running like S H I T. These are two of five GM F-bodies that I restored. Nothing special, just clean looking muscle cars. This 1974...

I guess having rear drive made it easy to drop a big motor in a little car. In the era before turbos and 16 valve engines, that was the only way to make a car really go. ;)

Maybe that should be Afternoon Delight, if anyone can remember that popular Starline Vocal band song? Lol. Cars from that time can get a bad wrap, but there were some worthwhile things from those days like GM's radial tuned suspension (RTS) and ESC ignition, and some interesting rides. What notable ...

The Bandit Trans Am in Smokey & The Bandit Part 3 (1983) was clean looking, and deserves more respect, even though technically Burt wasn't at the wheel. Snowman as Bandit with a slim Colleen Camp riding shotgun.

Re: (Kincaid)

The poster for Smokey & The Bandit II makes Burt look like one of the Village People, but that's cool. Super stuntman Hal Needham said they used a 750 bhp NASCAR motor for the car that did the bridge jump in the original film. Burt did so much for the positive image of the Firebird and GM in th...

Ha, ha, it's funny to think that 10-12k in 1975 was the equivalent of $45,000 in todays money, and people thought what they were paying for gas back then was expensive too, even more so than today.

That looks like a Hemi Cuda shaker on that Matador coupe? That's sad, I like the Matador coupe. The SS 454 Monte of 1970 & 71 is relatively little known, usually overshadowed by the Chevelles. I will add the 74' AMX 401, only 235 horses net, but lots of torque. Also, it looks pretty mean.

Re: old Trans Ams (ving)

Yeah, the 403 was an Olds family car engine so it doesn't have the aftermarket support of a Chevy 350 or Pontiac 400. That said, back in 1979 the 403 T/A was valued highly because it was one of the few cars left that had some fire. It was quicker than the base L78 350 powered Corvette of the time, ...

I am no GTO expert, but wasn't the color "Reef" turquoise? It's funny you should bring up the 1979 T/A, I assume it was Olds 403 powered, most were. In 1977/78 the Olds 403/THM 350 power team was for Californian T/As, but in 1979 it became a 50 state power team. The thing is that when tes...

The Hurst his & hers dual gate was way ahead of its time for automatic shifting, and everyone in 70s Firebird cicrcles wishes they could get the optional rear seat console. WS6 is certainly available on other lines, even on the Fiero in the 80s.

Re: old Trans Ams (savedbyzero)

My Fiero SE has WS6, but I don't think that's the WS6 you want. I can imagine that blue 1975 Trans Am without the hoodbird decal, that would have been sweet indeed. From memory it would probably have had the L78 400. 455 motor was a mid year option. There was a white T/A with blue hoodbird decal in...

Not that there's anything wrong with the Vibe's normal engines, but has anyone heard of any company or individual that has done an engine swap on a Vibe, like say changing to a V6? Just curious.
