Re: New tires for my 18 inch Matrix wheels (NWEric)

Went with Nexen N5000 tires 215/45-18. Just put them on Monday. Seems like a good tire. A lot quieter than the Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires. We'll see how they do over time. A couple hundred miles on them and I like them. Much more solid handling and they do seem good in rain. Only downside is ...

New tires for my 18 inch Matrix wheels

As winter draws to a close I'm looking at what tires to get for my new 18 inch Matrix wheels. My 16 inch steel rims have my winter tires. I'm planning on sticking with the original 215/45 size. I'm considering the Sumitomo HTR A/S P01. I also have to decide if I want to add the stupid tire monitors ...

Got them for $200. Really good shape. No curb rash. They are 39mm offset, so perfect fit. Now I'll have to figure out tire size and a good summer tire. I'm thinking 225/40 18.

2009 Matrix XRS 18 inch wheels

So my line on some 17 inch Matrix wheels isn't working out, but I now have an opportunity to buy some 18 inch Matrix XRS wheels. What do you think? Supposedly in good shape for $200 total. This will be my summer wheels for my 09 Vibe AWD 2.4. The steel wheels are 39mm offset and I think these 18 inc...

Got my wiring kit at etrailer.com. Works great. I think Toyota cheaped out on the wiring for the vibe/matrix. This is the 1st car I've ever had to use the battery.http://www.etrailer.com/t1-2009_Pontiac_Vibe.htm

Tried calling today as a new subscriber to see if they had any special offers. No discounts besides what is listed on the website. I told them that was too expensive and no thanks. Will wait and see if any deals come along later.

Thanks for the info. My mistake. I thought some of the Toyota Matrix S 2.4 models came with 16 inch alloys. I guess 17 inch will work.

Re: Best trailer hitch for a 2009 AWD Vibe (NWEric)

Purchased the Draw-Tite bar and the wiring kit as a present to myself for Christmas. I'll probably let my mechanic install the wiring since it will be a lot easier with a lift to route the wire to the battery. Will let you know if there are any problems with the muffler.

Re: (beemerphile1)

That makes sense that you got the Curt. My weight will be significantly less than your Aliner. For me, it isn't much fun to tow heavier trailers up and down the mountains here in the NW with a smaller car. I'm not new to Aliners or Little Guys. I've had my Little Guy since 2007. Actually had an Alin...

Best trailer hitch for a 2009 AWD Vibe

I know this topic has been covered before, but I didn't see an exact answer. I hope this doesn't seem like a duplicate topic. I plan to install a hitch on my 2009 Vibe AWD this winter. I have installed a couple of hitches on cars before with no problems. I am a little concerned about the rattling ex...

WTB: 16 inch Vibe/Matrix wheels - 2009 or newer

Looking for OEM 16 inch alloys from 2009 or newer Matrix or Vibe. 2nd choice would 17 inch. Prefer local in the NW (Oregon/Washington).

I decided to pass on the 17 inch wheels. Not sure I want to go lower profile. You are right about the 45mm offset for Camry wheels. A lot of the Toyota/Scion wheels are 45mm. What I'd really like to find is some 16 inch Matrix alloys.

2009 Camry 17 inch alloys on my 09 2.4 Vibe

This weekend, I'm looking at buying some 17 inch 09 Toyota Camry alloys for summer tires. I've got the 205/55 16 winter tires on my steel rims. I know the 09 Camry bolt pattern is correct for the 2.4. I would run 215/45 17 tires, the standard size for the Vibe/Matrix 17 inch rims. I'd love some feed...

Re: New ride (star_deceiver)

I-5. Had a 3-year old so it needed to be the fastest route. I've driven 101/1 to LA before in a Miata. Great route if you can time it with no traffic. On this trip holiday traffic kept my speeds down in CA. Oregon still has the stupid 65 limit, so it's even slower here. Many bathroom breaks needed f...

09 AWD = 26 mpg hwy and about 23 mpg mixed city and hwy during winter. Probably the only downside I've experienced with this car so far. AWD = extra weight. My Subaru got better hwy mileage and was bigger.

New ride

Just picked up a new to me 2009 AWD with 17k miles. Promptly made a 2000 mile trip from Oregon to LA and back. Car worked great. Averaged 26 mpg with new snow tires. I'm curious about the GM warranty. Is it transferable to the 2nd owner? If so, where do you get the work done.? Not that I'm planning ...
