Re: Tire dilemma (silverawd26)

Well, I took the concerns here and decided to see if the originalwheel shop would get me some Corolla OEMs. Luck was on myside - a Corolla owner didn't want the steel rims they had ordered. With a straight trade I now have a great fit over the hub and amonly out re-balancing fees.As an aside, I did ...

Re: Tire dilemma (silverawd26)

Great info - thanks again. Based on your above post, and thefact that the hub rings in your link seem to be plastic, it would seemthat the hub is not so important for load-bearing, but for balancingpurposes. Let me know if that interpretation is wrong. I will lookinto picking these up, but want to b...

Re: Tire dilemma (silverawd26)

I have done some more reading on this, and it seems that hub-centric fits are not all that important except for highpeformance or for trucks that carry significant loads. Should Ireally be concerned? I'm betting a lot of vibe users here are using Canadian Tire and Discount Tire aftermarket rims that...

Re: Tire dilemma

After getting the R15's installed, they were fine with the brakecalipers. However...The guy who installed the tires was not entirely happy with the innerfit. I think he is talking about the fit around the hub? There was a gap between the inner cutout of the rim and the small disc of the vibe that is...

Re: Tire dilemma (trdvibe)

Nice job on the used alloys. I have gone with steel R15's. I couldn'tget anyone in Pontiac service to confirm that this is okay, so thetire installer will simply check before installing the winters on thenew rims. If this works I'll be very pleased as you sure get a lot moreselection with 195/65/R15...

Tire dilemma

Like many, I am not happy with the Continentals that came with thevibe. Definitely useless in the snow.I am debating two options:1) Winter tires2) Better all-seasonsI live in the maritimes. To be honest, I don't find snow driving too bad.Driving a corolla with decent all-seasons gives me no problems...

Engine hesitation

I own a 5-speed base Vibe.I have seen a few discussions on engine hesitation, but I could not tell how the issues were resolved. During moderate acceleration from 3000 RPM to 5000 RPM (nowhere near the red line), I can sometimes feel a lull in the acceleration. It might happen a few times during a s...

MP3s in the Vibe

I have an MP3 player that I would like to hook into the vibe. I have searched previous discussions but want to see if there are any options. Here's what I have learned:There appears to be no clean way to get a line into the stock stereoFM radio transmitters don't work very well although a custom FM ...

New Vibe - First Thoughts

I have just purchased a new base model 5 speed '04 Vibe and I am definitely happy with the purchase. After 1000+ km break-in plus 1000+ km of enjoyable driving, I think this is a great car. I didn't get much haggle room - the car seemed to be hard to find, especially as a no-options, silver base 5-s...
