Ceramic Brake Pads???

The guy at my tire shop told me that I need new brake pads. Which is believable because I do have almost 70K on it. I thought the price was a little high, but he said that they were ceramic pads so they cost more. Is Carbon metalic or ceramic OEM on an '03?

I just noticed that my A/C is making a knocking sound, but only when it is NOT on recirculate. It sounds like somebody is tapping their finger on the dashboard about every second at a random pace.Doesn't matter what fan speed I have it set to or how fast I am driving or if I am stopped. My base handles fairly well. I've never had any issues with not being able to drive around if I need too. It just depends on what type of tires you have and how much snow is on the ground.
