Hey all, just wanted to see if this was an alright thing to do. Increase in diameter of 3.2% from the stock 205/55R16’s that are on it currently. Just wanted something a little bigger without sacrificing MPGs but or any other negative effects on the car. Thanks in advance!
I went with 205/60R16 on mine, about the same extra sidewall without the extra width. I'd worry about 225/55 rubbing the fender liners, but if you have the clearance go for it.
I'm also buying 205 60 16 as winter tires. Wanted something skinny to slice through snow but not super reduced outer diameter. Couldn't find anything in a better size for the cost. I have 215 50 17 stockers as well for the other three seasons.
Edit. Never ended up using them in snow this winter, we didn't get any. The wheels are lighter than stock
