05(base) Vibe

Post by jamesmetairie »

about 135,000 miles on it.

The drivers side , inner c/v axle boot is busted open.
So far its making no noise or driving issues.
Am I correct =- it should start clicking on turns and roaring at speed ?

The boot is split, or the axle is open?

If just the boot, you can probably get away with having a mechanic repack it and put on a 'boot kit'.

I had CV joints go in previous cars. grinding on the turns is usually the very first sign. It's not something to take lightly, as your wheel _can_ separate if ignored long enough.
