I was looking at getting something else in the new year but the deals on the 2012 trucks were really good.... then they got a red one in... it was only 20 minutes from when it was unloaded off a truck until I put down a deposit!
Details:
4.8L V8 302hp, 305ft/lbs
4spd auto, 3:42 locking rear
Crew cab, power everything
265-70/17 Fully studded Firestone Winterforce on their own rims

Good looking pickup. At least hang around and post pictures of your travels and your antics. With a simple FWD hatchback you did some impressively dirty stuff. This truck opens up a whole new dimension for you!
Sorry to see the Vibe go, though. Any red base Vibe I see reminds me of your sig pic.
By the way, I'm sure GM appreciates you taking another pickup off their lots. They got a ton sitting around.
On one of your trips to Cali we will have to meet up.

YOU GOT A NEW CAR?! I didn't even know you were looking! Nice ride though. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to tackle a lot more terrain than the Vibe could handle.

Of course! This is the best forum on the net!!!
You haven't seen the last of me!!!
Now... I seem to still have 4 summer rims with new tires from the Vibe that need a new home....

Aw mannnnnn so many Vibers are leaving the fold
But with that kind of power and handling (and ground clearance, lol) you will have many epic adventures.

So you really traded in the Vibe? Or, are you going to sell the Vibe yourself?

The rims have the dual bolt pattern, 5-100 and (I believe) 5-114 (will have to double check) and will look VERY good on a Red or Black car!!!

They would fit - the 1.8 bolt pattern is the same all the way through! Only the 2.4's that are different. I think they'd look good on a white one too!
By the way - nice looking ride! I was wondering what Chevy was offering that you'd be trading the Vibe for. I noticed your post about the "final mileage" on the 11th, and the sig change. I didn't expect a truck - but that does make sense for much of what you use it for. No manual transmission though I see
Fuel economy will be interesting to see - clearly not in the Vibe category, but probably not too bad for a truck either. My uncle recently rented a 3/4 ton Chev van with the 4.8, and got about 11L/100km with mostly highway driving. He didn't go too fast though - probably 110km/h tops. The 4.8 would be my engine of preference too, although I don't have the cash aside to buy a new truck, nor the budget for its fuel consumption at this time. I'll potentially get one eventually - we'll see what my needs are, and how fuel prices are going when I'm done with the Vibe. Hopefully not for another 10 years or so for me though!
When I bought my Vibe, I said I wanted to keep it going as long as my friend had his '93 Prelude going for - which was just over 500,000km at the time. Well - he's still driving it with well past 600k - so he's setting the bar pretty high for me! I plan to pay cash for whatever I get next though - so I'll need a while to save up! I'm just happy that both of our vehicles are fully paid for now. Hopefully no payments for me ever again!
I hope this one does just as well for you as the Vibe has. You seemed pretty happy with it from how things sounded on here! At least it brought you to lots of fun places reliably. I can only hope to have the opportunity to travel like that one day. Maybe once the kids are done college - in another 10 -12 years...

Just one more thing about trading in the Vibe.....
Buick and other GM dealers still send me offers to get me to trade in the Vibe for alot of $$$. Do you still get these offers and is that what you did to get a good deal on the truck?

No, no stick shift... GM hasn't offered one in a full size pickup since 2006.

They gave me 30% more for the Vibe then 'Canadian black book' said it was worth. I'll post the window sticker of the truck and details on what was included in the sale.

Congrats! Power things AND autotragic? You feeling ok? (does anyone even offer a M/T truck anymore?)
I will say with some of the places you've posted pictures of where you have taken your Vibe to, I would feel much more confident going there with a truck.
You got it for a good price, GM is sitting on a ton of these things so I guess they're dealing. Gotta say this gen looks much better than the "new" and "improved" version they just unveiled yesterday.

You can get a Dodge 2500/3500 Diesel with a stick, and from what I've read, the 2014 Colorado/Canyon will still have clutching capabilities.
And power things... THERE'S BUTTONS THAT DO THINGS!!!!! The 4 wheel drive shifter is still manual though!

That totally S U C K S I see even Ford dropped the manual out of their F-150 lineup I guess I'll be holding onto my 21 year old F-150 for another 20+ years and "shifting" those gears all by myself What is somewhat shocking is the price of trucks today compared to 20 years ago. Here is my window sticker when I bought it. My "out the door" final price back then was $10,520.00 I would think for 40K they at least would have put nice alloys on the truck instead of the basic steelies On the bright side, they should NEVER require airing them up like most alloys do.

Whoa... a 2.73 rear end on the indestructible 300-6!!! Nice price! If you hunt around, you can find 2013 full size Ford or GM base model 4x2 reg cabs for $20K.
The stock rims (currently on the balcony) have the chrome covering... black painted steel underneath. The grey painted steelies with the winters will do the job!

Sorry to see the Vibe go Ryan. I was expecting to hear you had gone with that Camaro SS you had mentioned test driving, so I am pretty surprised to see a truck. As others have said, I can't wait to see what kind of adventures you have with the new ride.

15usmpg, awesome.
Can't get the 4.3L with a 5 speed anymore?
Need a/c in Calgary? 28*C too hot for you, lol?
Seems like such a backwards trade for someone who does a lot of km's.
Side note: I wish genvibe had 100x500px restrictions for signatures....

Nope.
LOL!!! It's not necessary buy there are very few vehicles that have AC as an option anymore.
Yup... and now we're going to get much further out on those back roads! And more Bike road trips!!!

Congrats on your new truck. That sticker price maybe in Canadian dollars BUT it could very well be in USA dollars also. There was a 2012 Silverado in the local Chevy dealer for $50,000
It used to be trucks were cheaper then cars and folks used them for work or outdoors stuff, but at $50,000 that truck would never leave my driveway in fear of damage.
I am looking for a 2wd compact pickup like a Ranger or a Toyota Tacoma/HiLux to use as a take to the dump/haul stuff vehicle.
Good luck with your truck

I can see the headlines now... "Canadian Oil Exports Plummet... Star_ gets new Chevy truck!"
Great looking truck! Very good deal, too. Now the Rockies (and other areas) will be better explored... especially in Winter. Great Pictures, as always. Love that region... one of my favorites. Glad you're hanging around, even if Vibeless.

Nah... Oil is safe, I got the small V8
And I'm not Vibeless.... I still have the GTR!!! N.I.B!!!
It was warmer the other day... I took a wrong turn and the truck got soaked... meh, that won't last long!

aFe Power MagnumFORCE Stage-2 PRO 5R
At 5000 rpm, wide open throttle, it's very loud. At 1500-2500 rpm city/highway cruising under mild throttle there's very a slightly more noticeable burble/rumble and gets progressively louder at the throttle opens more. I'll take a vid soon so stock/aFe intakes can be compared.
