Got a 2012 Chevy Equinox LT as a loaner while the Vibe is having the seat looked at for creaky noises Pretty nice little SUV. The interior is much nicer that what the Vibe has and much nicer than GM vehicles of past had to offer. Lots of room. The 4 banger surprisingly is not working too hard to haul all that around. Neat little features all around.Nice...
The Chevy Equinox would make my short list if I were in the market -but no more than we drive I may not be in the market for a new vehicle until 2020. And by that time I may be pushing up daisies or my kids may have taken my keys away.

Maybe they want me to buy it The kids asked if we could keep it...no, daddy doesn't need this much of a car just to drive to work and back.Oh yah, sounds like I will keep the loaner for another day or two - they had to order a new "seat frame", that's coming from a distributor.
I'd love to hear more about the 4cyl engine of that car, since my husband is interested in the GMC Terrain (its twin). We are debating whether to go with the 4cyl or 6cyl, 4cyl for gas mileage and 6cyl for potential hauling capacity and a few other options. What do you think? We'd be keeping my car obviously...

"LOANING" cars while your's is in for service just might be the greatest marketing scheme yet created!! EVERYONE LOVES the smell and feel of a new car!! What better way to make you want one and to make your old rust bucket seem like a piece of garbage than to plant the seed of new in your brain? No pressure, no mass outreach, you voluntarily came to them and gladly took an extended test drive!Dave

The 4 is very adequate for cruising around town, flying down the freeway, but runs out of breath if you stomp on it. Not exactly the set upyou are for "spirited" type of driving. It is a lot of car to haul around for a 2.4 liter 182hp motor. I guess the V6 with 264hp is a bit more than you would need, but would be nice to have. Tough call...
I assume the V-6 adds a lot to the price, and of course the extra gas cost goes on and on. I can live with a 4.

Well the EPA estimated gas mileage is about the same as Chris's current car (G6 GT Coupe) with only a slightly larger tank, so I don't estimate that the v6 engine would add to our budget very much. It is somewhat more in cost for the v6, but the dealerships are also offering extra incentives on the v6 because it's less popular. So, who knows!
