In regarding the recent news of the US increasing their ethanol to 15%, I wondered what was going to happen with us so I emailed Chevron Canada.Quote, originally posted by star_deceiver »What is and will be the ethanol content in each of the 4 grades of gas in Chevron stations in BC?Here's their response:Quote, originally posted by Chevron Consumer Connection Center »Dear Mr. Straw,Thank you for contacting Chevron regarding the ethanol content in each of the 4 grades of gas in Chevron stations.Since there are some regulatory provisions for ethanol in gasoline that apply to our products in Province of BC, Alberta and others. Our plan is to be compliant. 10% ethanol by volume, would be the % maximum in the blended gasoline in most grades of gasolines. The Province of BC has issued an RFRR gasoline mandate for 2010 as of Jan 1. http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/epd/c...y.pdf We can, assure the high quality and performance of Chevron gasoline, irrespective of formulation. Any formulation of Chevron or Texaco branded gasolines are Top Tier with Techron. However, Regarding Supreme Plus (94 octane), it does not contain ethanol nor do we have any plans in the future to add ethanol to the product. Supreme Plus remains a core product in our suite of fuels and we plan to continue to offer it at our BC facilities. Regards, Michael Jerry T. I realise that the extra octane won't do much but is it worth the extra $6.67 a tank... (Oh, $6.67 is what I usually spend at starbucks twice a week... more or less... your frappaccino may vary...)
