Mavrik and I will be planning a short trip up to Montreal that weekend. We'll leave London Friday (11th) morning and arrive in the afternoon so we can see his friends. We should be there then through Sunday and leave Sunday afternoon to Toronto. So, anyone up for a meet that weekend?? or can you point us in the right direction for things to do or places to see. obviously, it's just a short trip, so can't do anything too crazy. but i do want to get a little shopping done, take plenty of pics of various historical things, etc. is there an art museum there too? i'm sure there is.. it's Montreal! and Sam, can't wait to see your little one! and of course, Tammy.
yes, looking forward to it. i've never been to Montreal, but have always wanted. of course, i cannot speak any French what so ever... so you'll have to excuse me. sorry! i can probably hack up the little bit of german i do know.. but we all know how much the French and German love each other. lolwhere are some good places to stay there? that may not be too spendy? and what about weather in August? is it really hot?? what should I expect?
well i figure most of the residents (except old school) would speak english. i'm not opposed to learning french (the language sounds hot after all ) but not enough time before we go! lolwhat kinda temps should i expect? I think the last time when i was in TO in Sept when we got married, it was pretty warm still. any ideas on what day may work best? I think maybe Saturday vs Friday... any thoughts?
For the language, like previously mentionned, most of the people here speak english, so you'll be fine.As for the temperature in august, here is a resume of the same date but in 2005:August 9th: 30.9C or 87.6FAugust 10th: 30.6C or 87.1FAugust 11th: 28.5C or 83.3FAugust 12th: 26.7C or 80.1FAugust 13th: 28.1C or 82.6FFinally, I think you will get a better "attendance record" if it's a saturday because people usually work on friday.
