Back to the OEM springs

Post by miked »

Hey guys, sorry to let you down but I went back up this weekend. It was to much for me, or to low. I've done it all alone and it took me 2h flush. So if any of you need help to put it back to the original or to lower it I'm there to help. Also, I went to Caycan tire to rent a spring compresor and they didn't had one in stock, so I went to NAPA and I now have one. So dont rent one anymore. I've got one and it's a great one.See you all at the next meet.

Sorry to hear that... Are you thinking about getting another brand of spring with a more modest drop???Also, how much did you pay for that spring compressor?

Nope, I think i will keep my OEM springs, I'm now chicken to change them again. And for the spring compressor it cost me 60$. Not that bad, but boy does it work great and it is easy to use.

See my drop is not as "dramatic" as yours....the ride is harsher than OEM but I blame the streets of Montreal!Honestly though I don't blame you for going back to stock.

I just recently went back to stock springs as well. I'm really enjoying the ride again as the roads here are pretty harsh as well. The only way I will drop it again will be if I can ever afford a set of Tein SS Coilovers ($1200).

They are Canuck Motorsport, they advertise it with a 1.6" drop all around. They are more like 2" front and 2.6" back.

Well you guys are just full of good news. Everybody on here was posting how much like they liked their new lower springs...and how they would never go back to stock. So I ordered some springs and got them last week - and I am waiting for a chance to put them on. Now everybody is going back to stock! The good news is that I bought the Eibach pro-kit which is not a big drop - and the ride is advertised as being close to stock. I live in Northern Kentucky and the pothole problem is not huge - at least not this winter as it was pretty mild. They are however putting a new waterline down our street and the trench is very rough and the street is always dirty.I will still be lowering mine....and hopefully it will stay that way. I plan on changing wheels and tires when winter comes......but I would rather not have a seasonal spring change as well.Dave

just got another email back from canuck motorsports, miked, i really suggest you contact them about your springs....Quote »Hi Adam, just saw this in my Sent folder and have more to say on it: Does this Vibe owner have a boom box in his trunk? This could be the cause for the increased rear drop. Also, occasionally the wrong springs get shipped. This falls under our warranty, and replacements are sent promptly. But the customer has to let us know the drop is wrong, so we can figure out what went wrong and fix it for them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------From: Wes Webber [mailto:wesw@canuckmotorsports.com] Sent: Saturday, April 01, 2006 11:45 AMTo: 'adam barber'Subject: RE: spring question Thanks Adam, that is odd. I’ll pass this on to the designers. Do you know if these Vibe springs were professionally installed? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------From: adam barber [mailto:adam_barber99@hotmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 29, 2006 8:43 AMTo: sales@canuckmotorsports.comSubject: RE: spring question looks like your springs dont drop the advritised 1.6"/1.6".....its actually closer to 1.7"/2.8". a guy on genvibe.com in montreal put them on his vibe......just thought youd want to know about it....here is the link to the page...http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...age=1 --adamaka thebarbermatrixowners.comgenvibe.com

more from CMQuote »Thanks for your response, Adam. Glad you found springs you are happy with. It’s the buyer’s responsibility to contact the supplier if the springs aren’t quite right, if they need warranty service. No, I won’t go looking for this elusive customer, try and figure out who this buyer is and ask if he wants service. I’ll send your “free springs for advertising“ on to management, but I can pretty much guarantee they won’t go for it. It’s one thing if the springs need testing, but the Matrix don’t. It is already done. Wes --------------------------------------------------------------------------------From: adam barber [mailto:adam_barber99@hotmail.com] Sent: Monday, April 10, 2006 5:18 AMTo: wesw@canuckmotorsports.comCc: adam_barber99@hotmail.comSubject: RE: FW: spring question im not sure if he has some subs in his hatch....i dont think he does though. it never came up in the discussion, so i would doubt he has one.the springs werent professionally installed, they were done by the member xrs06.i would suggest that you join genvibe.com (its free and easy to do) and post in that thread i sent you to offer your help, or maybe contact the member directly...is it possible that the wrong rear springs were sent? i know that intrax springs generally has the same issue, and thus its best to check the part numbers on the front and rear springs to make sure they match.all of this is a real shame though, because i was really looking forward to using your springs on my matrix and i currently have other springs on order...for curiosity sake, would you be willing to use my car as tester for your springs?. i am very active in the matrix/vibe community and would be more than willing to do an install how-to and a full reveiw of your springs (all with many before and after shots) which i will post on all major matrix and vibe websites. the gentleman who will be installing my springs is mikes_matrix from matrixowners.com...hes a toyota technician who does spring installations and other misc. work on the side. i think something like this would most certainly boost your sales of matrix/vibe springs in canada and more than likely the states as well as matrixowners alone has 6261 registered members in north america. i would be willing to do this for some free/discounted springs. please let me know asap on this last isssue as i already have other springs on order and have a planned installation date of May 6th, 2006.well, i hope you can get to the bottom of the saggy springs (no pun intended)i hope to hear from you soonregards,--adammatrixowners.comgenvibe.commatrixrides.com
