AUX Port in 09 Vibe

Post by slmclarengt »

It appears the AUX port is loose or the connection is not solid because audio frequencies are not all audible when using it, but wiggling the cable inside the port gently temporarily resolves it. Is this a known issue or does it seem specific to my 2009 Manual Vibe? I have tried multiple 3.5mm cables and they all work fine on other equipment (like my home speakers + computer) but fail to work perfectly in the car. Ideas?SlmP.S. I put this in warranty section because I figured it would be covered under warranty.

You may have a faulty AUX port. I have been using mine for 18 months without any problem with a standard generic 3.5mm cable I got on ebay for 2$.

I don't know if this is the same problem I'm having but I don't use my AUX at all because of the poor sound quality. I buy all of my music from iTunes... so I know its now the song.. It just doesn't have the quality sound that the CD or even the radio has..

Your bitrate is waaaaay too low for anything other then earbuds. For decent stereo sound quality, download preferably tracks with 256K. 192K at the lowest! Yes your file size will be huge but thats the price you pay for decent sound!

Remove the display module part of the head unit carefully
Remove all the tiny screw as they are the 1/8" box nut socket
Carefully re solder all the contact at the aux port (good flow)
move one of the 1/8 screw and fasten below aux hole to make it securely anchor to the circuit board
