Thanks, tpollauf, for the compliment. Cars are a bit of an obsession with me. My father & uncle (his brother in law) were the best bodymen & mechanics in this area from the 30,s through the 70's. They were also two of many unfortunate individuals to lose their shirts in a Tucker franchise in 1948. My father sold Hudsons with my uncle in the building they built for the tucker dealership from 48 to 51 when he left to start his own garage/body shop. He opened a used car lot in 1973 & also began teaching vocational auto collision that same year. He retired from teaching in 1984 & sold the car lot in 1989. He died of lymphoma in 1990. My greatest joy was working with him & learning from him. The acquisition of the oldsmobile pace car is a great story in itself & if I haven't already bored everyone to death, I would be glad to share that in another post
I know, right? That was the in thing in those days. I also had a pair in red , white & blue plaid.
