Our 2009 Vibe with about 48,000 miles is not used very often. Sits ungaraged. Had it serviced at the end of November. Today I drove it and noticed a lot of crap on my driveway under the spot where the engine sits. I am guessing oil, gasoline etc. Put it back with a sheet of cardboard underneath to see if it is leaking. A week or so ago I did start it and let it idle for about 30 minutes to de-ice it. I wonder if that had anything to do with this. I will see what happens in the next few days. No warnings about low oil etc. Whatever it is I will have fixed as aside from the rattle due to the steering column issue it is a good 2rd car. This 2009 Vibe is not as good as my prior 2003.

My only oil leak to date was from the timing gear cover. Whole engine had to be removed. What a waste of money. This car better get me to 200,000 miles and beyond; otherwise, I will have wished I pushed it over the cliff like Homer and Peter would have done.
Hope this oil leak you had is exclusive to the 1.8L engines only. Our 2009 Vibe GT's have the bigger 2.4L and no leaks at all on either of them. Mine sits peacefully at 27k miles (garaged) whereas my son's is just over 90k miles (out in the weather).
I don't know about the 09-10's, but there's been enough posts here that on the 03-08's, by the time low oil or low ol pressure causes some dashboard indication, it's too late, engine damage.
