Congratulations! In the grand scheme of things, $600.00 for vehicle service / repairs is not bad at all. I spent $275.00 just to have a leaking water pump replaced on mine a couple months back .musicmanmu wrote:235,000 miles today and [knocks on wood] car is still running famously. Some interior rattle at high speeds but that is to be expected.
I did, however, have to dump about $600 in repairs a few months back for some fluid flushes/replacement, and a tiny oil leak (can't remember the root cause). That's the single largest repair bill besides tires I've ever had since I bought it brand new in October 2008.
My Vibe turned over 56,000 miles yesterday on my way home from work.vibenvy wrote:Mine has about a hundred miles to go, so it will probably turn over some time during this next week.
I love the extreme contrast between these two 2nd gen Vibes' miles!musicmanmu wrote:About to pass 240,000 miles.Houston wrote:Just rolled over to 11,455.
Welcome to GenVibe! That's awesome (although not surprising) that your Vibe has that many miles and is still running great! Be sure and make a post introducing yourself and your Vibe when you get a chance .ceil01 wrote:I have 315,000 miles on my 2007 Vibe. And yes, it does stop at 299,999. Since then I have been using the tripometer to keep track of how many more miles I have put on it. So every 10,000 miles, I have to log it, to keep track.
I'm thinking I should change the transmission fluid as well, why doesn't anyone want to change yours?ceil01 wrote:I have 315,000 miles on my 2007 Vibe. And yes, it does stop at 299,999. Car runs great, only I am concerned about the fact that no one wants to do a tranny fluid change. Their answer is just to keep running it, and it concerns me a bit.
I'm not really having a problem, I just think it should be changed.
I agree. The auto trans on my dad's 2001 s10 (~314,000 miles) started slipping every so often a couple weeks ago. He took it to our mechanic and they said that basically the transmission is starting to go. They didn't want to change the transmission fluid and filter because they said that would just kill the transmission quicker. They said they've seen people go another 50,000 miles before the transmission finally gives out for good, so my dad's just babying it and hoping for the best.meinmi wrote:This may be complete nonsense but if I remember correctly I was told years ago that if transmission service wasn't done as regularly scheduled (meaning that fluid isn't changed on schedule from the beginning of it's life) over time "crud" forms in little nooks and crannies. This crud doesn't impair function but when a high mileage transmission is opened for the first time later in life this crud breaks loose and can float around causing all kinds of problems. This leads to the common advice "if it is working leave it alone".
Me too! But I'm only at 135,000. I don't think I drive enough to ever accomplish my goal. Who knows.musicmanmu wrote:Just another continual update...just hit 250,000 miles I'm shooting for 300,000 and beyond. Fingers crossed!
Congratulations! 300,000 is not far off!musicmanmu wrote:Just another continual update...just hit 250,000 miles I'm shooting for 300,000 and beyond. Fingers crossed!
Probably not, considering how much I drive. I have to believe that if it wasn't mostly highway miles, I might not still be driving her. But I will definitely continue the updates and we shall see what the odometer does after 299,999 (fingers crossed)!vibenvy wrote:Congratulations! 300,000 is not far off!musicmanmu wrote:Just another continual update...just hit 250,000 miles I'm shooting for 300,000 and beyond. Every time you post, I get more and more excited to find out whether or not the 2nd gen odometers will stop at 299,999 !
Welcome to GenVibe ... officially Owned it for six years and just now joining up with us. Why the long delay? Open up a separate thread introducing yourself and post pics of your Vibe. We love pics around here. Again .... WelcomeMelissa18L wrote:172,000 total. I've put on over 120,000 myself in six years.
