No more GenVibe decals!?!

Post by vibenvy »

I was just on the Grafx Werks website getting a link to answer a post in the Exterior Forum. While looking through all the products listed for Vibes, I noticed there is no longer a listing for the GenVibe decals. I looked through every different year and model they list for Vibes and they were nowhere to be found :(. I have a feeling if you contacted Ryan, he would probably still make some for you, but not seeing them listed on the site any more just made me sad .

EDIT: SlammedNiss has graciously offered to make GenVibe decals for any one who wants them. Here is the "official" decal ordering thread.

If people are still wanting them, I can do them. I'm pretty well know around MatrixOwners and Corolla9 and make most of their decals.

Good to know! I'm good for now as I just replaced the GV decals on both our Vibes a year or two ago (the first ones had been on since we got the Vibes new in 2009), but I will definitely keep you in mind for the future.

Aww, that's a bummer that they aren't on the site anymore. The GVC decals are still in great shape on ours after being installed on the roof rack 10 years ago. 8-)

Looks like there are some others missing too, like the VVT-i ones I had for instance.

Hopefully they can still be made and of the same quality. I have a spare (they came in 2-packs) somewhere but not sure where I placed it. Never got around to placing it onto junior's Vibe. This is an example of where if most of us GenVibe members knew of this, then more would seek out to obtain them and PROUDLY display them on their vehicles!

Ours lasted about 5 years on the lower right corner of the hatch glass before they started to look crappy. The rear windows take a beating though, especially in the winter, so I was very happy they lasted that long. The new ones should be good for another couple years yet, but I can't imagine our Vibes without the GV decals on the rear windows. They've been on the Vibes practically since they came home from the dealer :(.

Hmmm... maybe there's a problem with the website and that's why certain products are missing :?:

For those of you who are interested in GenVibe decals, I would recommend contacting Ryan at Grafx Werks directly (mail@grafwerks.com). I have a feeling he would still be willing to make them or that as I said above, perhaps there's a problem with the website or something. If you do contact him, be sure and post here letting the rest of us know what he says.

Are you sure that email address is correct? http://www.grafwerks.com appears to be a new company.

Perhaps it is http://www.grafxwerks.com instead?

Since the forum changeover, pics are few and far between. However, I found a few:

That's disappointing, Grafxwerks has always offered excellent support for our little community. :( I guess financially there's no sense in supporting a declining community. :(

Impact italic font is all you need for the Vibe logo. Have fun and let us know what you come up with.

I would certainly buy a couple more for our two Vibes if you get some more made. I had a smaller version on the rear window on my 10 GT as shown above, but I will take any size that is reasonable.

that hurts to look at. That poor vibe. On a side note, think I might have convinced one of the other 3 vibe owners here at work to get on the forums. There's My Metallic red, a blaze orange 1st gen, a neptune blue 1st gen, and a silver 2nd gen GT, but I've not seen that one in a few months.

That's sad and unfortunate. I was going to email Ryan tonight but I guess I don't have to. I bought quite a few overlays and such from him for both of my wife's Vibes and a couple of my cars from years back. There's a place here in town that can do custom decals, I had them do the SD70M decal on Project Vibe, so I'm sure they can fix me up here locally if need be.

Just to be sure, they are sold as a set of 2? Two for $6?

Also, how do we order these? Any shipping costs involved?

I know it's a moot point now, but it was just a typo on my part.

I'm really surprised that Ryan is no longer making the GenVibe decals, but is still making pretty much all the other Vibe overlays, decals, etc. Oh well :|...

@ SlammedNiss: Would it be possible to make the decals slightly larger? I believe the ones from Grafx Werks were 8"x2". And do you have a metallic silver vinyl? Thanks in advance!

YES .... Definitely make them in the silver metallic color as shown here in the attached pic :D Also these were 1" tall & 8" long. These are perfectly adhered to the hatch glass of the 2009/10 Vibes!

I can do them any size, but anything larger than what I'm doing would cost a little extra.

Also, yes, I can also do them in silver metallic. In fact, can do them in most colors that I already have on hand for the same price.

Got mine today, and I had to put one on ASAP! Excuse the dirty car, as we are still in the monsoon season. I actually drove the Vibe through some flood water yesterday, about 5" deep.

They look great! Thanks Brandon! My Vibe is "complete". :D

Yes, it is white and in the 9"x1" size. It is a bit bold against the dark windows and dark blue paint, so maybe a silver would have looked better, but since I already have the white letters on my license plate frame, I stuck with white. I do think the silver would look good on your car.

Yep, that's what I thought too Cole, but as Ian posted, he contacted Ryan directly and he said he didn't have any left in stock and wouldn't be making any more :(. I'm kind of annoyed because he's still advertising pretty much all his other Vibe products on the site, so why not the GV decals? Oh well, I doubt I'll ever purchase anything from Grafx Werks again as this whole situation has kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.

As I said earlier in this thread, a huge thank you to SlammedNiss for stepping up and offering to make these for us! I will be ordering two pairs to have as backups within the next week or so...

I recommend silver. IMO, it goes well with any Vibe exterior color. Check out our Garage threads (in my signature below) to see what silver GenVibe decals look like on our Vibes. Also, if you need a place to put your decal, I recommend putting one on the lower right corner of the hatch glass. This is where they are on our Vibes and on many other members' Vibes as well. Just a couple ideas for you to consider. Either way, be sure to post pictures when you get your decal put on ;).

Is that silver decal metallic, and reflective?
