Quote, originally posted by Vinlandr »Why have they changed the original 2003 front ?CHEATERS!!! THAT's no 03! (even if it is...) Bah, they made that body style for two years and the other one for way longer, why not just buy an 05-08?? Irks me. That said, It IS a gorgeous car, and the tails are well done, I would be interested to know how they did that. It appears that the amber lens is gone too, they're all red with a little tint to them.
I think the GXP taillights were not modifications of the 'stock' lights, but early prototypes, because of 1) the round reflectors, much smaller than stock, and 2) the clear covers. Probably just too expensive to mass-produce.Also notice that the GXP-2.jpg photo with the Michigan license plate has 'stock' taillights with the ridges, while all the other photos show the 'smooth' tails. When I first saw the GXP in person at the 2004 GenVibe Michigan Supermeet, it already had the '2005' front end (introduced in about May 2004). (The blue one is the Vibe Autocross).
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
