it should work now... however i don't want a bunch of youtube vids in people's signatures so i might have to do some research on how to prevent thatligion wrote:It looks great! Can we post youtube videos now?? i will try!
Right there with ya. I'm attempting to catch up on everything I've missed since I was last on on Wed Jul 16, 2008J_TO_ENVY wrote:I am currently attempting to catch up on everything I've missed since I was last on on April 10th.
LOL! You've definitely got some reading to do! Welcome back !crazytrain wrote:Right there with ya. I'm attempting to catch up on everything I've missed since I was last on on Wed Jul 16, 2008
Excuse me while I start some reading

the company that made the old forum software (it was a commercial product) stopped supporting the software about 7 years ago, and subsequently went out of business. it just didn't seem like a good idea to use unsupported software for so long - there are no security patches, new versions of the underlying libraries (php, perl, etc.) aren't supported, and so forth. there was also no mod community around the old software (zeroforum), so there was little opportunity to expand or improve features available for our members.Herb wrote:I know I haven't been frequenting the forums as much in the past year, but what was the reasoning behind the change over?
I removed the thread for you.J_TO_ENVY wrote:Mike, could you please delete this thread for me? My Garage thread has disappeared so I figured I would just make a new one for my Vibe and I'd like to go ahead and just make a new one for my mom's Vibe as well. Thanks in advance!
Thank you very much!Sputnik wrote:I removed the thread for you.
I received the same message earlier when I tried to log on.tpollauf wrote:So far guys so good .................. BUT I got this message earlier today. Does this new forum software limit the amount of users on at any given time? Just curious as to why I got this message. Thanks & keep up the good work
No, we will not be changing forum software again.Infinity-x wrote:Can we please upgrade to VBulletin?
Many attachments were preserved, but many were not unfortunately. Can you point me to an example of one that's missing attachments? Maybe I can do some research to improve the situation. gConverter migrated most of the posts and I migrated myself the ones that they missed - I still don't have an explanation for why they weren't able to migrate all of them. But the ones I migrated pretty much all got there attachments migrated as well.Herb wrote:OK, because the change over pretty much lost all my attachments from my posts over the years, I plan to gradually find some of my threads that I posted photos and other files and re-upload them.
I don't think so, but I'm also not seeing the cut-off that other people are seeing. I just see the image extend out right over the border of the page.Herb wrote:So far I'm not too crazy on how the forum software cuts off the images for the photos. It doesn't seem obvious that if you click on the photo the full image will show up on a pop up window. Is it possible to scale them when displaying them initially?
I don't see anything in the server configuration restricting what can be uploaded and downloaded, but I'll look around some more.Herb wrote:Also I've been informed that .wav files aren't permitted, but I can't seem to figure out what would be allowed.
I uploaded an image that was far too big to display, and it is being resized in my browser to fit within the window. If I change my window size and reload the page, it resizes the image again. I think this is the desired behavior. I realize the clicking on the image isn't obvious, it's possible I can get a pointer icon to appear when you mouseover it; let me check that out.mkowdley wrote:I don't think so, but I'm also not seeing the cut-off that other people are seeing. I also see the cut off using IE8, IE9, Firefox 3.6 and on my android browser(version 2.3.4)mkowdley wrote:
I'm using Firefox 12, if you're getting the cut-off in a different browser, let me know which one.
Yes, I wrote a program that migrated from the old system to the new system some of the posts that the consultants didn't migrate, for reasons that I cannot explain. The ranks is an open issue; I'll talk to the moderators to start bouncing ideas around.tpollauf wrote:Not sure what you did (if anything) but my "post counter" is back where is was before the switch!
Is this still happening? The layout is still screwed up with some margins and such, but I tested MSIE 9, Chrome, and FF12 and the navigation is clickable in all of them for me. I'll try to work on the layout a bit this weekend, I am not thrilled with it now but have to mull it over a bit. Also, I keep getting ads right under the gv.com banner, right in front of the board index and home buttons, making navigation almost impossible, any help?
No worries, I've been finding it goes back and forth. But thanks for the hard work, it's looking good thus far. Cheers.mkowdley wrote:tpollauf wrote:Is this still happening?
