Here's a brand i never thought i'd buy. Tirerack link Great score on tirerack, cheap and currently on sale in my area. I'll try them over wet pavement today and post reviews later.
I just had these installed yesterday!! They are much quieter than my Hankook i-Pike snow tires...lol!! They are smootth, absorb the road bumps and noise very well from what I noticed yesterday afternoon and this morning, from and to work. I bought them based on Tire Rack's reviews also. Look forward to hearing your take on them.
My Fleet:
'15 Ford Fusion AWD Titanium 2.0 Tutbo
'14 Lincoln MXZ AWD 2.0 Turbo
'14 Nissan Pathfinder AWD SL
'05 Pontiac Vibe AWD
Looked at those the other day... but here anyways, they cost about $50 more for four (tires only, onling price) then my Hankooks v4's. Tirerack reviews were from a BMW 328i w/225-45-17's... Given that the bimmer can (generally) handle much better then our Vibes I'd say any of those tires tested would be great!I doubt that the General's will be in my future but I do look forward to hearing everyone else's opinion!
Almost a week now with those tires and I really enjoy them.I had heavy rain conditions on the very first day and I could go straight through water puddles almost at full speed on the highway.Comfort and noise are almost comparable to my previous Toyo Tourevo LS tires a had the past 3 years which I've been told they were luxury tires.I tried to cut corners and enter highway at full speed, never exeeded max speed of course , they stick real hard to the road. All in all, I think this is a great buy and I recommend them to all.
Quote, originally posted by bull77 »good to hear they work well and genvibers are using them these are the tires I'm installing next week -- $500 for 4x235/45/17500$ wow that's cheap for that size... I paid 480$ + install and taxes for 205/55/16... you found them at CT? That's where I found my deal.
I've lurked here for years but the Search function always managed to answer any questions I might have had until now.I've been eyeballing these tires and reading reviews, but haven't been able to convince myself to pull the trigger since I haven't seen many Vibe or Matrix reviews on these tires. My work also has forced me to usually go the used tire route... Construction site and warehouse crate nails don't agree with nice new tires and getting a flat each week made decent tires cost prohibitive. All that said, new job with a possible move coming up means I don't trust the mixed bag for a long haul with extra weight, so I'm really looking forward to updates on these!!
Guys let me tell you that I had both the General UHP (summer) and General Altimax Arctic (winter) tires and they are amazing!!! I still have the Generals as my winter tires. Had them on my Vibe for 2-3 winters and now 2 winters on the Mazda. Fantastic grip, they last forever lol. These tires are made in Germany. Excellent value! Best bank for the buck These new Generals G-Max are next on the Mazda for me
