Possible Vibe owner. Thoughts?

Post by dhouston89 »

I test drove a 2007 Vibe today. It drove great and I had my mechanic check it out and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. The out the door price with everything including taxes is $9200. This is without me haggling at all which I will probably do. My only concern is that it has 108,000 miles on it. What do you guys think?

$1200 too much IMO...Think of it this way... 2009 Vibes similar to mine w/ 120000kms are selling at dealers for about $10000... and the most expensive over-optioned '09 with over 100000kms was around $12'5.And apparently my car has a trade in value of $4500....

Thanks for the tip. I am going to try and get the price down a bit. Any other help or recommendations would be great as well

I trust your mechanic checked the tranny and the tranny fluid? Given the mileage, maybe see if they can throw in a spark plug change and front brakes? I am a haggler as well, so I fully endorse lopping off as much as you can on that price. $8,000 seems about right in the end. Start lower.

Also check to make sure the PCM recall has been done, if this Vibe is affected. Some, that have been for sale, have not had it done.

sounds pretty typical for a dealer. you can probably get one for around $7k from a private seller. if you're in a position to buy the car outright, i'd start by offering $8k.
