Lug nut size

Post by KennedSR »

I got myself a set of MB Five X 16x7 with the 5-100/114.3 bolt pattern for the winter to go with my snow tires. I am stepping down from 18 inches to 16 inches. Stupid me did not buy the lug nuts that went with the wheels when I originally bought them. I looked around but could not find the size for certain. I just wanted to see if you guys agreed that the 16 inch base model tire lug nuts would be 12 x 1.50. From NAPA auto parts it looks like the Conical Acorn type would work for my wheels but again I wanted to see what you guys thought. Thanks in advance for assisting a first time DIYer

Thanks for the quick response both of you. I was pretty much freaking out as to how I was going to get these wheels and tires on and I did not want the wheels falling off half way through my drive to work.

I know this is an old thread, but maybe someone can chime in and help. My '06 Vibe has alloy wheels and I know the lug nuts should be 12x1.5, but what about the length and seat? Acorn style seat or flat with washer???

the alloy wheels take the flat with washer, the steelies get the acorns.

an example of flat with washer nuts for Vibe alloys is

although I'm not sure if these have a separate floating washer, or if one is needed. maybe flat flanged is a better descriptor
