Hello,I've been lurking here for about a month as I have been searching for a used Vibe to purchase. I finally found one that matched my budget and desires. It is a 2003 Vibe (base) with an automatic transmission, power windows, locks, mirrors - in Lava with the gray cladding. She has not been shown much love the last few years of her life as there are a lot of little details I need to attend to. Pontiac emblem on the front bumer is missing, the front end cap for the roof rack on the right side is missing, the paint is wearing off of the silver plastic pieces inside, the hood support rod grommet is missing, the windshield washer isn't working and she needs tires, plus multiple other little faults. In spite of all that, this is a fun car to drive and I look froward to driving it for some time to come.>
in my experience the more red white and blue themed american flags and colors a used car dealership has, the worse quality of cars they sell. But if you managed to find a good'un then more power to you. How much you find it for if you don't mind me asking? IT sure is pretty regardless.

I ended up paying $4800.00 + tax. It has 135,500 miles on the odometer and the Carfax showed a previous accident. I found where the repair was done and I'm sorry to say it was not done as well as I'd like to see it. Nonetheless, other Vibes in my area (Chicago metro area) are running upwards of $6000 for the same condition. I found two others for roughly the same price, but one had a salvage title and the other had 289,000 miles! Thanks for all the welcomes!
Kirk, we will be heading to Indy the second week of January. I'll be sure to beep as I pass Lebanon. Glad to see they were FINALLY done with the construction in that area the last time I went through there.
Congratulations on your "new" Lava Vibe!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't it a great hue???? So happy to hear that your little Vibe is finally going to get the Lovin' it so dearly deserves! It never ceases to amaze me how badly some people treat their cars. When I see a mistreated Vibe, I almost CRY!!!!!!!!!! Best Wishes from a fellow Lava (no cladding, tho)!!!!!!!!!! Keep on Vibin'!!!!!!!! I am nearing 120,000 in my 2004 Lava with no repairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome, enjoy your first generation Vibe. It's in good hands with you and it sounds like you're gonna fix the minor things that have been neglected - get the tires first for winter safety. There is lots of good info on the GenVibe about tires (use search feature abouve). You can also get a decent tire installed from Sams Club. Here's a link t GenVibe Wheels and Tires discussions. http://forums.genvibe.com/zeroforum?id=4I've had my Vibe for 5 years and its very reliable.

Though I drive an 07 Salsa, I do indeed prefer the front styling of the first generation Vibe. Something about the smaller grilles appeals to me.Welcome to the site, hope you'll become an active member that is helped by and helps other members as you can!!Dave
