I made up a test piece; just printed "VIBE" in the biggest text of the right font I could find in my computer toolbar, printed it out, blew it up a bit more in the copier and copied it onto a transparency. It looks pretty nice, but I think it would be better if it was a negative. I also put a couple of extra bulbs in the housing and wired them to the tail light circuit, so now I have a third tail light too.
quote:Hey, Does anyone here have one of those 3rd brake decals that lights up a word when the brake is hit. And if so what does it say???I have one that says "Vibe" but I haven't put it on my car yet. I'll get around to it sometime.
"I our new Vibe almost as much as my Harley, and believe me that says a lot about how I feel about our new Vibe, just ask my wife" 2003 Vibe monotone Neptune/Graphite 4-speed auto, moon & tunes, power package, 4-wheel ABS, and 16" aluminum wheels, all windows tinted 20%

Can't have the brake light lit at any intensity unless you're actually braking. Throws off people behind you. Kind of the reason they developed the standard for the CHMSL. -- much more visible to see a third light come on than just two dimmed ones get brighter.

True, raging, and I did use low power bulbs for that reason. Of couse the regular lights also have both tail and brake lights in the same housing in many vehicles, but the Law is a tangled web...

I was thinking ragingfish, or the traditional pontiac, maybe even "cool beans." Ah, decisions, decisions.

I asked him if he would do this. It's not something that is offered all the time as of yet. I'm sure if he got a couple more requests, he would make it available on his website.

Yes, that is correct. The shop that did my tint removed the hood for the light. They then tinted over the opening in the glass. So yes, be very careful when you apply it and make sure it is what you want.

If it were right on the lens, it probably wouldn't show up as well. I wanted an inside the glass one, but I was afraid to ask Ryan if he could do that because I didn't want to be a pain. Mine says "Vibe GT".

Ragingfish,Did you ever get the decal for the 3rd brake light? I was curious to know if this is legal in NJ? Anybody know how to find out what kind of mods are not legal for your state? I've done a search of websites, but came up empty.
