So in lookin thru all KINDS of threads for a good nomination for VOTM, I stumbled upon this.Pretty sure he's not active any longer, but I wonder if he's done anything with it since.trikkonceptz's Vibe
at least it is better than alot of the high mpg club. there are a lot of people that worry to much about getting every dose of energy out of a tank of gas. they could just save 100% gas and buy a bike. I ride my bike everyday year round, once you get used to plowing through the snow it is not that bad.
can't, stop, staring... Doesn't look very aerodynamic, more like trying to drive with a snow plow attached, guessing the cooling system has to work overtime.

He traded his Vibe for a Scion. And I've done some ecomodding things too, though currently they have been taken off. The ones I had on were mostly temporary, for a science project.

Hey i agree. It looks lke it's done well, just not PAINTED well. Which is to be expected with any ongoing project. I wasn't hating, it's just different. I like different!

Just out of curiosity, why did you choose to start a new thread instead of continuing the discussion of Ivan's Vibe in his garage threadhttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=34021?
I like the bumper, so I wanted to see what others had to say about it, but I knew some wouldn't like it so I started a new thread. I didn't want to see the dislikes in his garage thread.

I took off my jacket, since the garage heater was on, and the mirror was the closest convenient thing. Fuel economy did show an increase, although I think some of it was counterproductive because I didn't see an increase that was too great. I think things like maybe the skirts were increasing drag, and I think the lower grill block wasn't doing too much good either. Just a flat wall to stop the air. Next version will be a slope from inside the grill, not just flat wall. Plus that makes it more stealthy of an MPG mod!
Most cars that try to upgrade the mpg's that I have seen from a design perspective focus on the trail end of the car. Making it less of a cutoff as you did with the tailgate but even more so for noticeable differences. The concept was that the airflow off the back created vortexes that essentially pull the car back creating higher drag.

The air hates you really, since it's pushing AND pulling you back. It's best to focus in both areas, really, and it's easier to do the grill. The rear slope I put on the rear will be improved, and won't need the glass to hold it down, and I'll be able to open the rear hatch with it on.
