First time at the strip

Post by Merzbow »

So granted, I did run 17's the whole time I still had a blast, and it was my first time to ever race my Vibe officially. Basically proving to myself that Vibes are one of the slowest cars in production at this point in time but it was still A LOT of fun I could race up that strip all day long! that's a cool dragstrip..i've never seen one where the two lanes were separated by grass except on a couple 1/8th mi. strips in NC

hey, i believe Mav's first time at the track on his base vibe was also 17's. so you're doing well. drag racing isn't normal daily driving. glad you had fun!

my sunfire was 17's aswell as for the strip of grass "between the racers" i think that it's actually the return road from the end of the strip to the beginning

Yeah, you got it. There isn't anything separating hte two lanes. The black top is the return road. I have been trying to get a supercharger but then I'll still be driving a slow car but it will have another $3500 invested in it (removed)....it might sound a little more intimidating though.

I knew they had a racing forum at one point but I thought they took it out. I didn't know there was another one. The mods can move it if they want. Doesn't matter to me.

haha, you got owned by what appeared to be a mustang gt...meh, drag racing is really fun, i really only like 1/4 miles though, 1/8's are no fun... the fastest ive ever run was a 12.14 in my stock vibe gt! lol, just kidding it was in a 2001 camaro ss with a few mods and a 3200 rpm stall loads of fun though!!

Yeah it was fun. I raced a few mustangs, That one in particular I raced about 3-4 times. I beat him off the line all 3-4 times!!! Only took a second for him to blow by me though. I slaughtered everyone's reaction time too. I just need to take out the 300lb stereo next time and learn how to play with the throttle, as this was my first time.

It's called Bracket racing.. you can win at that Merz.I'm sure you can be WAY more consistant, and that can make you win.
