Duh, like you totally should have known the S87 JZ2 isn't compatible with your engine's framazams! What's Inder doing? Well, we don't know what he was doing but now he's probably searching for replacement kanuter valves because his engine go bye-bye! Just watch out with the flux capacitor man, I know those projects you've had with those are bound to cause issues with that whole space/time thing, whatever that does. Anyway, I hope you don't have any extra parts left over when you're done, or anything held on with duct tape, jb weld, or similar. I trust you haven't been to the ColonelPanic skool of auto mekanikin'.

Yeah. It's off of a 92 SE-R to be exact. It's a bit lighter. Stronger. And turbo will not be happening for a little bit. Once I hit 14's with this setup, I'll be happy for the winter. . So yeah. I want to make sure that this thing runs for a little bit. Cuz my parents are sick of having my car sit in the garage. LOL

OK, I know a lot about cars but do not follow Nissan... Did your original engine die and that is why you replaced it? And, what are the numbers for the new one compared to the old i.e. HP and torque? Where did you get the new engine?Major mod in my mind, looks good so far! Keep up the good work...

It's a low-port SR20DE. I had one in my 93.5 G20....awesome motor, I should have known when I saw the PCV oil catch what it was, but you're right, the black VC confused me.The low-port motors have tons (10~15%+) more torque, and about 8~12 HP; Nissan had to stop using that design due to emissions constrants. My G20 was a 93.5, and had like 140K miles in it. I also have owned a 2002 Sentra SE 2.0 with an SR20DE (but on the 99 ups they messed with the motor even more than changing the direction the fuel port flowed, they lighten the crank, ect), the old G20 had so much more Ommmmmppppf that the newer Sentra that I traded the Sentra off.....so dissappointed I was...

The 91-92 Sentra's, NX2000's, and the G20's all had the hgih-port motor. Which has a better flowing head, difffernt intake manifold, and better cams. So, stock for stock. The 93 and up sentra's had 140. This one has like 150-155. So yeah. It's not that bad. But it;s not stock though. I have a header on it, intake, exhaust, and pulley's. So yeah. That's the mods so far. And once I can sell the cams that were from my old motor, I'm going to buy the Greddy Stage 2 cams for this motor. . And the reason I swapped out my motors is because just like every person that gets the mod bug, we want MORE POWER! LOL. Inder

Looks good, I am just jumping in this one late but kinda appeared obvious. An older Sentra with all that pulled off it, had to be the SR20DE motor. Now you just need to make it the SR20DE-T. Those are crazy motors and still denote respect today, even by kids with newer SE-Rs and Spec Vs. And when I saw that pic with the black valve cover in its fancy U-shap, lol. I was def. convinced. Nice swap, you are going to have a ***** of a time with the custom wiring needed since you have a slightly newer/older model than what the engine calls for. Shouldn't be too hard.Let me ask you this though, is the SR20 an OBDI or OBDII, cause that is another headache people have dealt with when I was a Saturn owner. Didn't switch to OBD II until 94.

The swap wasn't that bad honestly. The hardest part was finding the right wiring harness for the right year of my car. What I had to do was get a wiring harness for the 98 Sentra. And when I got that, I had to rewire 2 starter wires. Then after that point, everything started working. I was soo happy. Then after we got the car running right (as you can see in the video), I took out on the road and let me tell you, that thing PULLSSS!!!! And about the OBDI-II stuff, I just had a 98 SE-R ecu that I used, then I was like screw this and swapped out that ecu with the 92 with less emissions and a higher rev limit with no governor . The hardest part of a motor swap is finding parts. And electronically, I think that doing the wiring was the hardest. Nothing mechanically was hard at all. Everything bolted up and everything. Worked out really well and now I have a fairly quick car

Still a good job though, the mechanics are the fun part. I assume the mounts bolted right up or did you have to weld new ones on the frame? Also since you did so much wiring work, did you just use an older gauge cluster to match?

I actually jus plugged in the 93 SE-R cluster in it. So yeah. We had to swap out the clusters. The cluster I had in there before was for my 1.6 motor but for like a 93 XE. So It jus plug and play in except for 1 wire, which was the tach. I jus had to tap into the tach wire on the engine wiring harness and just get the reading that way. Was a fun project though.

Sounds it, glad to hear its running well for ya also. You get tired of hearing about B16 and B18 swaps all the time in Honda's. Or even some kids are not dropping the 2.4L Acura TSX Honda Element motor in their cars. And not to mention trying to swap out the Element AWD drivetrain. nuts.Cleanes swap I saw on a Honda was a RSX S engine (2.0L 200hp) to a Civic EX Coupe like I used to have. It actually bolts right up, but you need to swap the tranny as well 5spd, vs. 6. Definitely a boost in power over the stock 128.

Yeah. I know what you mean man. Sick of hearin the B series *****. LOL. I personally don't mind Honda's, but people just ruin it for me everytime I see the airplane spoilers on their cars. Like the only things that were different from the GA (old motor) and the SR was that the passenger side motor mount, rear tranny mount, axles, tranny, radiator, and I can't remember anything else was different in the swap. But it was fun though. Doing the swap definitely was an interesting task. Just got little things left in this now. Like hooking the alarm up, running all new wiring for the amps and radio. So yeah. It should be ready to spank in a week or so. I want to wait out this month because of the ****ty weather.

weather is horrible, its too cold to do anything fun.I kept my Civic stock, with the OEM spoiler though. I cleared the headlamps, and removed the Civic and EX badges, then had 35% tint. The only other outside mod I did was M3 signal mirrors with white LEDs and had them painted to match the car. They weren't that good in the visibility department cause the mirror was so small it was hard to see your rear.

Sounds like a clean car . Mine did look clean, but now I gottat get my bumpers realigned, raised, and painted. And then repaint the entire car. And then get my wheels powdercoated gloss black. I think after that, I will cosmetically done with the Sentra. Actually, I lied. Carbon fiber, hood, trunk, and lip will be on order later on this year.
